Re: Getting PVA to stick to PLA

I printed BVOH at 218 degrees Celsuis. Ambient temp wasn't anything unusual. I printed slowly (2100mm/min I believe) and also put the BVOH in my dehydrator (120 degrees C for 2-3 hours first). I preferred to use 100% BVOH for supports (instead of 10-15 dense layers on top of PLA towers which saves $...

Re: Getting PVA to stick to PLA

PVA was a headache for me also. It just wouldn't consistently do what I wanted. BVOH has been much better for me but seems hard to get now. Out of stock on Makergear site and amazon.

Re: Restoring Simplify3D Settings

I'm still on 4.0.0 (using a M3-ID) for similar reasons:
Complaints on this board/Since I know 4.0.0 works I'm just waiting for the update to be worthwhile.
Any news about fixes?

Re: Flexible Magnetic Build Surface for the M2/M3

Np.
This is easily the best board I read/post on across many topics. I remember the old google groups for 3D printing (I started reading ednisley and His blog because of the thingomatic group) and those groups became toxic. I like how supportive and informative this "place" is.

I don't know you. I've read many good posts you've made here over the years as an M2 owner. However, I must agree that if you didn't have that history this would seem iffy at best.

Re: Glass Pop

That happened to me with a PLA print (about 1"x3" base) using just hair spray. The bed was a little over two years old and regularly flipped.

15 month old BVOH works fine

I had some in a ziplock with desiccant in an closed tub. I hadn't touched it for at least 10 months. I put it in my dehydrator for 3 hours and it printed like new. I've had less luck with PVA stored similarly. It's expensive stuff ($100 for 1/2 kilo) but worth it (to me anyway).

Re: Simplify 4.0+ issues with M3-ID

I am also curious about this. I've had S3D since the beginning and this is the first time I haven't upgraded to the latest version because of people's concerns (I'm still on 4.0.0, works great). I have a M3-ID now but used S3D with the M2 and the M2 Dual with no problems.

Re: Latest project - Summer

Thanks. I looked up the model and the creator said it could be printed pretty easily. I saw the M3-ID so I assumed soluble supports. Nice work.

Re: Latest project - Summer

Beautiful print! Did you use soluble supports? BVOH?
