Re: Gaps with ABS

Thanks jimc! You are always a huge help. I have mine at 45degrees, is that normal? Any recommendations for what angles I should use?

Re: Gaps with ABS

Dale, that sounds like a great idea but would be far over my head. Can you manually change the angles of the infill through S3D or other slicers? Or do you simply mean rotating the model slightly before I slice it? I was able to get a much better looking print when I changed my layer height from .25...

Gaps with ABS

I'm still new to working with ABS and am encountering some issues. My prints often have gaps between the perimeter and infill lines. Also, when I have small holes in my file, the print ends up going over and covering part of the hole. When I view the print preview, none of these issues appear. I'm u...

Re: Another ABS Help Post

jim, I am printing with the exact same gcode and material. I actually had the same issue previously near the top of a print yesterday where a few layers were shifted. But for the second print today I cheated and simply removed the previous print and put a fresh layer of hair spray on and started the...

Another ABS Help Post

I am very new to using ABS. I was able to get one very good print with it. I printed a file that includes two parts side by side (photoed). On the right you can see the first time i printed it and everything came out great. The second is the exact same file printed again, but I get a shift in the pl...

Re: Weird Bubbling

Thanks for all of your responses. The consensus seems to be that its just a matter of the filament not sticking in that spot. I was worried it might be something in the settings or mechanical. I'll put on a fresh coat of hairspray and try again.

Weird Bubbling

I started printing a larger print and on the bottom layer I got this very odd bubbling in two different spots on the print. I am using Ultimachine PLA at 220C (new hot end). Any ideas what might be causing this? Has anyone encountered this before?

Re: Printing Speed ??

I have cleaned out the hot end and am not having issues with that. I'm using Ultimachine silver PLA. They are blobs, not gaps. It's weird, and frustrating, that at 4800 I can't get clean prints. i have to go VERY slow to get them to look clean.

Printing Speed ??

I am able to get some great looking prints as long as I have my speeds ~1400mm/min. As soon as I try printing around the default 4800 mm/min. The picture of the complete print is at ~1400 and the ones I stopped because the seam is terrible are printed at 4800mm/min. Does anyone else have this issue?...
