Re: Extruder too hot! - This is a weird one.

Update! I haven't had much time to troubleshoot this issue. I took Ed's advice and reset my thermistor table. I agree with him that a sudden mechanical failure does not warrant adjusting the firmware settings. :D I still had the issue though. Really nasty looking extrusions. I found that I could sti...

Extruder too hot! - This is a weird one.

Hey all, It's been awhile since my last post. I've had my M2 for 3 years now and it's been running great. I have an E3D V6 hot end. So far I've been pretty self sufficient. I've been handling the usual print issues that pop up without much effort. But this one I can't seem to shake. A few days ago, ...

Re: Gaps between extrusions...

Wow, that's totally different than how my machine runs. I have my first layer height set to 50% and my first layer width set to 145% - It's been working great for months. Perhaps I level on the high side. He does have some additional questions/comments though... -The gaps between the extrusion are n...

Gaps between extrusions...

Hello Everyone, It's been quite a while since my last post. Things have been going great with my printer and I'm posting on behalf of a friend. He's having an issue where there is consistently a gap between two adjacent beads of material. When he prints something the extrusions aren't touching. The ...

Re: Voltage divider - What am I doing wrong.

I've thought about adding a second battery. The problem is, it's a tricopter and I'm very close to my motor/ESC weight limit. I picked up an LM317 because it was cheap. I haven't had time to test it out yet. I think I'm going to go with the Pololu regulator for the long term. I'm not worried about i...

Re: Voltage divider - What am I doing wrong.

Thanks Tim. I had a suspicion that factored into the equation. I've noticed that the gimbal performs well as long as the voltage remains between 9 and 13 volts. Outside of that, the gains get screwy. (In my opinion) I like the 3rd option because I have a whole box of various resistors and I don't ne...

Voltage divider - What am I doing wrong.

Hey all, I'm trying to power a camera stabilizer gimbal that has a working voltage of 7.4 - 14.8 volts with a 16.8 volt battery. (4S lipo, 5300mAh, 35C) The working current of this gimbal is 200mA - 500mA. I figured that I would make a voltage divider using 2 resistors. a 220 ohm and a 470 ohm. That...

Re: Independent hot end control.

Thanks everybody. That is a great solution. If it were up to me, I'd use it. After presenting the idea to the boss man, he still wants to go the Arduino route. The 3D printing robot is going to be featured at the Detroit Henry Ford Museum Maker Fair. He wants to use an Arduino to show that the robot...

Independent hot end control.

Hey all, I'm trying to do something crazy here. As the title suggests, I'm trying to make an independent V3B hot end control. We are upgrading our 3D printing FANUC robot and I have been assigned to design the controls as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Here's a rough sketch of my idea... The 9V...

Re: M2 inputs?

Now that sounds promising. I was thinking about wiring it in series with the reset button. Seems too invasive though.

I'll do some tinkering and let you know how it goes.
