So ... the 2nd fan option fixes everything! Big thank you guys!
Still some work to be done on the handle but it looks promising.

Re: Problem with PLA surface finish
Yes, that's the front of the part and than the same rotated 180 deg. It seems to be the furthest away from the fan so I will try another fan placed on the bed and see hot it behaves - seems to be the easy option

Re: Problem with PLA surface finish
Thanks guys!!! I completely forgot about the second fan addition. I will work to get one done and see how it goes.
Will try the part in ABS so that should rule out second fan I suppose.
Will post some ABS results soon I hope.

Problem with PLA surface finish
Hello, I am trying to print a kettle bell in black PLA. I have a strange issue with the model as it shows in the pictures attached. Basically that is the same part with the same FFF but rotated 180deg. So the problems seems to stay in the exact place with respect to the printer position(it didn't ro...

Re: Heatsink for the V3B hot end
No problems with the PID and temp control - I'm always monitoring temp on the graph. My idea was that part is not supposed to get hot/ build heath anyway ( I think ... ) Also, the heat sink is getting airflow around it as the head moves for printing, avoiding any buildup of heat. I am not sure how m...

Heatsink for the V3B hot end
Having looked at the newer hot ends designs I figured the addition of a heatsink can't hurt the V3b. This one fits perfectly. It's like it was designed for it :D ( http://ornithopters.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=22&products_id=935) Just remove filament, unscrew the nozzle and thr...

Second print fan?
Hi, I'm thinking of adding a second fan for the bed. It would sit behind the filament motor, quite symmetrical to the front fan. Any ideas on this? I noticed a better result on the part with a fan when printing a sphere. I think it should be OK to power it using a Y splitter from the front 50mm fan.

How do you print surfaces?
Hi guys! I'm new to the forum. Just got my M2 2 weeks ago and got it up and running! It's such an amazing machine - I'm totally hooked! I am using the M2( latest kit version with the V3b hot end), 1.75mm filam and .35 nozzle with Simplify 3D. I managed to print quite well with it most of the basic p...
