Re: This years Valentines Gift
Just a quick update. Level 2 came out as the others have, needing lots of hand finishing to remove strings. 20150206_120823-cropped.jpg However, the top level needs some fine tuning as the very top, which is supposed to be circular, came out a bit lopsided. I was there when it was printed and slowed...

Re: This years Valentines Gift
THANKS everyone. Jules - I usually throw them out or use them as examples of what not to do. This project is printed with PLA as I heard from others (on ThingiVerse) that they were unable to print using ABS. insta - Once the project is finished, I'll send a sample photo to MakerGear and if they are ...

Re: This years Valentines Gift
Levels 1 and 3 are complete, less hand finishing. I ended up using a 2.25X scale factor to get all but the smallest details to print. Assuming I get through the top level, the assembly should be complete tomorrow night.

Re: This years Valentines Gift
It looks like I'm closing in on the proper parameters to print this project.
There will be a lot of clean-up after all 4 pieces are printed, but it finished and that's encouraging.

Re: This years Valentines Gift
20150202_170652-cropped.jpg Well the first run has been canceled after seeing this stringy mess at the handrail layers. Up till this the print looked excellent with good quality at the bottom. Some time with the eye loupe will hopefully give me a better understanding of the problem. I had a sneaky ...

This years Valentines Gift
I've decided to print the Eifel Tower (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32825) for my wife. It will test the M2, and me. I did have to scale the downloaded files 200% in order to get the handrail balusters to print (section #2). That section is in the printer now and will tell me how to adjust the o...

Re: A Heat Chamber for the M2
THANKS kentd. I will keep your recommendations in mind as I muddle my way through the first few ABS prints.

A Heat Chamber for the M2
I've been printing with PLA since receiving the M2 this past October, but the time has arrived when I need to start using the ABS I've had sitting in the draw. With all of the forum topics dealing with ABS and its tendencies to warp, split and wreck havoc with novices such as myself, I decided to bu...

40MM Extruder fan Question
Hi: I started the printer this AM to find the 40MM extruder fan studdering along at a reduce speed. I wasn't sure if it was a part about to fail or something I had done, specifically changing the PWM setting in the firmware to reduce fan vibration, noise and add some ability to change the fan speed ...
