Re: Z height 1 mm to high

Thank you for your assistance. I changed the z height to .005 " . Also the extruder was not straight.

Wow.. Great results. Everything is crisp and clear. What a difference.

I see now how important it is to pay attention to detail. Bed alignment , z- height alignment are critical...

Thanks again .

How do I adjust the steps per mm for the z axis.

Or might there be another issue.

Re: Printing Without Raft

Had his problem with the first print using pla... I adjusted the height. Brim looked smooth not rounded. Cleaned the glass. Then a little bit of hair spray (Aquanet). Never had the issue again. Also used this with ABS instead of Kapton tape. Much easier. Tried the Elmers glue stick (not much luck. M...

Re: Fan Broke

I believe the fan broke where it did due to the sharp movements of the extruder. The entire fan assemble is support by the bolt. The bolt on the cover would have provided additional support.
The bolt is not long enough to be placed on the cover. Need another 4 or so mm.

Fan Broke

Fan Broke. The assembly instructions show placing the bolt inside the frame. Not sure why this is. It puts all the stress on the inside fan cover plastic. (Which is where the fan actually broke). Any reason why the bolt can not be place on the outer cover? Assembled fan from instructions: Fan Assemb...

Cracks in wall of ABS printed piece

The attached is a tall thin structure I built that seemed to separate in a few places. I am new to the 3d printing world.. Though I would be able to crank out volumes of items right out of the box. Realizing there is a learning curve with process, settings, designs etc. This forum is helping me driv...

Re: Bubble of bottom layer

I have noticed some extruder calibration techniques. Does this apply or it depends situation.

I have only noticed this with larger flat surfaces.

Re: Bubble of bottom layer

This is interesting. The bubble waves occurred after a few layers we already printed.. This time in the other direction. This is the layer currently printing over a smooth one.

Re: Bubble of bottom layer

I found a description for bed treatments:
http://wiki.solidoodle.com/bed-treatments/

Lessons learned:
Reduce bubbles
Wipe Kapton down with acetone
sandpaper Kapton

I tried elmers glue stick (did not work very well. probably did not put enough on)
Pain to remove the glue from the glass

Re: Bubble of bottom layer

Thanks for the quick reply:
ABS, Extruder Temp 240, Bed 100
Kapton tape...

Which do you have the most luck with: Kapton, hair spray, gluestick ,

I had a few small bubbles in the kapton tape . Could this begin the wave
