Re: PEI bonded to Mic6

Here's a plate after pressing. The excess PEI gets trimmed away on a band saw then the edges cleaned up on a belt sander.

Replacement Z micro-switch

I need to replace the Z-stop micro switch on a few M2 printers, but I don't see this part listed on the website. Is this something I can call them on the phone to get? If not, does anyone know where to get an equivalent switch?

Re: PEI bonded to Mic6

The thick Mic6 plates were something I pulled out of the scrap bin in the machine shop, so it didn't cost anything. They had holes in them but were still flat and served the purpose of even load distribution. But yeah, those plates are normally $100 each new so that would be $200 right there. I did ...

M3 Probes Breaking

We got 10 new M3 printers at work recently and have been running into issues with the Z probe tips bending frequently. I think they drag across a defect or blob left on the print surface and this causes them to bend and require replacement. Has anyone else run into this? Seems like a more rugged sen...

PEI bonded to Mic6

Anyone ever tried bonding a sheet of PEI to a an aluminum Mic6 plate to combine the benefits of both? When I say bonding, I don't mean the typical adhesive sheet holding the two together, which will always bubble and release over time and ruin the surface level. I'm talking about resin bonding with ...

Re: OctoPrint Temps stuck on "Off"

I seem to have this figured out. When running many printers at once and controlling them all through a browser, having each printer open in separate tabs on the browser causes big slow-downs in response times of the octoprint interface. If you just have only one or two tabs open then it's fine, but ...

Re: OctoPrint Temps stuck on "Off"

At home I'm running 4 M2s on OctoPrint 1.2.2 on some older Pi2 B boards, using WiFi. At work I don't know if anyone has updated the OctoPrint but it's running 13 M2s on Pi3 B boards and hard wired over ethernet since I couldn't get WiFi working on those. The 4 printer home network is an order of mag...

Yeah, timelapse is turned off. I'm not even sure what that does, I've never used it.

Re: OctoPrint Temps stuck on "Off"

They are wired using ethernet cables and switch hubs. The sluggish response happens on some more than others. When they get stuck in the "off" state I have to reboot them, as the graph never does start refreshing again. I had one of my home printers get stuck in the off state just now after a 20 hou...

Re: OctoPrint Temps stuck on "Off"

At work I have a bunch of PIs networked together over Ethernet and it was working pretty good for a while, but now the communications between the browser and the PIs has become incredibly sluggish. I've had prints take up to 7 minutes to start printing after hitting the print button, even though the...
