Re: Extruder gearbox pinion
For the same gear ratio I have seen several different variations that look similar (in the gearbox area). Kysan also sells the same product under different product numbers. I wonder if the changes have to do with the motors only (usually connector type / motor specs) or the gearbox as well. I wonder...

Re: Extruder gearbox pinion
Any updates on this issue? There must be some better way other than replacing the whole motor/gearbox set. I have ordered several pinions that seemed to match the one that keeps failing but no luck.

Re: Ghosting Defect
I have printed dozens of cubes while changing the speed, acceleration and jerk settings on the fly. Results were mixed. I have even managed to print at 18000 mm/min with low acceleration and it wasn't too bad (higher temp than normal was used). No violent shaking. For most prints using lower than th...

Re: Best Fit - 3D Modeling Software
I am using VIACAD. Comes at a good price and has lots of nice features. However, documentation is minimal, has quite a few bugs and support I didn't even bother to use as it did not seem much right to me. Community is rather small also. It is a good choice if you are willing to find your way around ...

Re: Extruder gearbox pinion
Thank you very much Rick! I really hope they will be able to offer some spares. I know it might not be the most easy thing to do replacing this gear but I (and probably many other customers as well) would appreciate a lot having that option instead of buying a new set. I am not sure but I think the ...

Re: Extruder gearbox pinion
Same I did with my second motor, put lots of the best grease I could find. The second motor came with a different color pinion gear (black). Since the planet gears still show no wear I am assuming that there must be something wrong with the pinions. The first one was model 1040222 while the second o...

Extruder gearbox pinion
I have been using my M2 quite a lot so as a result one more pinion (second one) in the extruder gearbox has almost reached its end of life. This however is quite annoying. The planets are perfectly fine and only the pinion gear gets severely worn (as already reported). The fact that there is no way ...
