Re: trashed v4 hot end
Oh not even 30 minutes after I made the discovery that the hot end was messed up I already had a new one on order. I love Makergear and the last thing I want to do is become a bother, these guys are too awesome.

Re: trashed v4 hot end
~Rick; I honestly cannot say for certain how it was bent, I was printing an "organic lamp shade" from thingverse (thing:480044) it was about 2 hours into the print when I came home. parts of the model were broken and stuck in the nested gob of PET+ but the overall strength of the model shouldn't hav...

Re: trashed v4 hot end
sorry for the delay in replies, but no both of mine are PTFE. Been printing just fine on the second extruder, I was over extruding just a smidge but nothing too great. Adjusted fire and now my prints are spot on, few if any strings and no more gobs of filament coating the nozzle.

Re: Starting with the V4 hot end
I would like to second all that Jules stated. I ordered my M2 in March and got it in the middle of April, I got the self assembly kit and it was extremely well packed and labeled. I did have one issue, I was missing a pair of bearings for the belt idle arms, I contacted them and same day got an emai...

Re: trashed v4 hot end
Just a little update: I tried to gently bend it back into place and sadly it snapped under the grub screw where the stem meets the heat block. I swapped to my right nozzle (dual setup) and tried the print again, apparently the model I was printing or s3d or something got all messed up because watchi...

trashed v4 hot end
I think the topic says it all, I came back from lunch with my wife to find the nozzle completely bird nested with PET+ when I cleaned it all off this is what I found. (below) Not sure what happened exactly I was already an hour into a print before I left and it was going perfectly. There was no glas...

Re: Printing lighter color PLA
Thank you both for your insight. Oddly enough acetone affected the makergear Black more then it affected the green or blue. from here I will try some gluestick (9 year old has it laying around everywhere) and if thats too much of a mess, I will try the hairspray. And yes when I purchased the hatchbo...

Printing lighter color PLA
First time posting, but I was wondering if anyone had tips for printing lighter color PLA. Not sure if it matters, but it certainly feels like it does. I am currently using Hatchbox PLA which has some decent reviews and it certainly looks like a high quality PLA but I cannot get it to adhere to my H...
