Re: cooling supliment

Hi Makeal,
What do you interpret in your prints as symptom of not-enough cooling? I feel I get close to perfect prints with my stock M2, the glass plate, tape, glue-sitck, and Esun PLA, using Simplify3d 4.0 with settings I'll share with you if you'd like.

Re: PEI bonded to Mic6

Hi Karl,
3/4 inch seems pretty substantial. Is this a thermal consideration? I stabilized the 1/8 inch aluminum bed on my TinyBoy by gluing 1/8 inch cork drawer liner under the heater element - or at least I think I did - it does work.

Re: Thumb screw for M2 Bed Leveling

If it is an ANSI threaded screw (this one isn't) and number 10 or smaller, I can usually shear it off pretty cleanly with my stripper/ crimping tool. If it's Metric (this one is) I grab it in a vise and using a cut-off wheel in a hand grinder (Dremel tool) cut off the portion that makes it too long....

https://softsolder.files.wordpress.com/2018/02/img_20180205_093112-m2-nozzle-silicone-applied.jpg?w=420 Looks hideous, works fine … Ed, Is this the nozzle you currently use? I ask because I agree that it isn't pretty. On the other hand, I run things which worked from the start and which I'd planned...

burned(?) PETG in prints

I seem to be getting this problem on most of my PETG prints. I'm using E-Sun "natural" THe PETG settings recommended at this site, 247C Extruder, 87C Bed, and in this case 100% cooling on from second layer. I get these inclusions of burned filament every so often. See photos. What do you think is ca...

Re: M2 Quick Start Keeps Dropping Session with Printer

I too use Octaprint with my M2. 100% good experience at least as far as getting the G-Code to the printer, monitoring progress from any computer in the house, and abiliity to stop the thing from anywhere if I see something I don't like. I had hoped that MakerGear would have tuned up quick-start by n...

Re: another octopi-camera installation

Voila!! Screenshot from 2018-09-23 12-20-00.jpg i suppose I should mention that I felt constrained by the short length of the Pi-Camera ribbon cable. I didn't like the idea of making an arm to mount the camera AND Pi-Box so I could have a better view. I thought it would get in my way. This setup doe...
