Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Airscapes, I just realized that I missed one of your question posts before. I do not have a BL touch sensor. I mechanically level my bed using a dial indicator and recording the measurements in a grid pattern and then I strategically apply layers of kapton tape to the underside of the buildtak flex...

Linear motion components overhaul

Hey everyone, I bought my M2 back in 2016 and its seen a ton of use since then. I think its time to do an overhaul of the linear motion components like the smooth rods and bearings, Z axis lead screw and nut, x and y axis rails and carriages. I would like to use quality parts like misumi or hiwin. J...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

I'm still able to hear the steppers on mine, but its a difficult comparison because thats a very slow print in the video, which would have the steppers as quiet is possible. I had the astrosyn stepper dampers in the past and decided to remove them for accuracy's sake. For me, the printer is perfect,...

Man I wish I could have gotten a video of the sound with the original setup!

Did you take the stepper dampers off before the video? are you pleased with the upgrade as a whole?

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Finally got my Duet enclosure redesigned, but now with the Panel Due as a separate unit. The Y axis rail support BARELY clears the case.... Air is drawn in by the 2 top fans and blown at the stepper drivers, and then the air enters a channel under the board on the front end of the enclosure before e...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

I assume you’re asking about my surgery? If so, it went excellent, thanks for asking. Literally everything went according to plan or better, and I expect to be back home by the end of the week. If you dont have your printer up and running by then, I’ll be in a better position to offer assistance. Je...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

The Z steps that are in the config that I posted to the Duet forum will be the ones that I’m using. I didn’t mess with them at all while I was getting it all up and running. I arrived on the new value by using a digital dial indicator to verify that the bed was travelling what I was instructing it t...

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

Hey Where did you get this value for steps per mm on Z in your config (from duet forum post) and are you using this value or did it get changed. It does not match the supposid value in the old Marlin config found on the old makergear m2 firmware site which I have listed below Your config M92 X88.89...
