Re: Extruder Insulation?

I found something which look identical to the stuff on my hotend. The brand is called Hilec. However the are dozens of different categories/profiles most probably due to heat resistance etc. If in doubt I'll ask Makergear support - just want to avoid that the insulation later on melts on my hotend :...

Re: Extruder Insulation?

Does anyone know where to get this (Expandable Rubber Coated Fiberglass Insulation) or some alternative in Europe ? I would order it from Makergear if shipping was not 50 bucks so I'm looking for other sources.

Thanks in advance, Alex

Re: Extruder fell apart

Re: Extruder fell apart

Sounds plausible... I noticed the fan making more noise than earlier although it's still running. Not sure if it's still working at full speed but would explain that the cooling could have been insufficient for a while... this plus the typical vibrations of the printer could explain the result. For ...

Extruder fell apart

Hi, after a couple of weeks not using the printer I tried a fresh run. During the print of the 1st layer I noticed that the hot-end (V3B) fell off. There was no noise nor head crash. Now I'm investigating what's wrong and it seems that the v3b uses a groove mount which is not properly sitting anymor...
