Tapping power for Raspberry Pi3
Anyone have info on how to tap off 5v from the Rambo board post 2015 machines? I'm looking at the board layout and seems they did away with the 5v tap. Or would it be better to make a voltage regulator fed from the main 24v powersupply? Trying to setup a raspberry pi3 right next to the Rambo board c...

Re: Pros and Cons of PEI/MIC6 vs glass?
I had considered a Mic6 plates as well when I had a hard time getting my bed leveled, seemed like the glass was warped up in the center. Like Tim said, I eventually found that my x-rail was hanging low, so I shimmed it and its all good now. I don't print very many large things end to end, so heat di...

Re: Radiator for toy car.
I looked at the path it takes when the radiator is printed upright, and what seems to be happening is the small .4mm vertical fins get a single pass starting on the inside and ending on the outside, kinda like an L shape. I wonder if that is causing the filament to get more pointy, rather than makin...

Re: Radiator for toy car.
So I printed it standing up and the results were unexpected. In theory, it made sense and looking at the gcode rendering in Octoprint, it looked alright too. The print however, didn't seem to improve.

Re: Radiator for toy car.
better detail going with a smaller nozzle If you build it standing on one side, rather than the bottom, you may see better results with the 0.35 mm nozzle. The 0.4 mm vertical fins are about one thread wide, but you really need two threads to get a good peninsula in the XY plane: one thread out, on...

Radiator for toy car.
Hi, just wanted to share my radiator I designed and printed. Took me a little while to get the dimensions to print correctly. These are .4mm vertical fins, .6mm horizontal fins, and .3mm depth difference between each. Standard .35mm nozzle at .2mm layer height on petg black. I can probably get bette...

Re: Suggestion on Filament stiffer than PETG
Things like fenderwells and roll cages seems a little soft. Sure, it doesn't break, but it just doesn't feel right. Other items are like l brackets and arms. I printed a piece for my fishing rod wrapper, which is basically an "L" bracket out of PETG, and it had way more flex than I'd care for and ha...

Suggestion on Filament stiffer than PETG
Hi all, Been a while since I checked in here, but needed your guys input on filament selection. I've been printing very well on PLA and PETG, haven't touched ABS since I didn't have a need for it. Since I'm doing mostly Radio Controlled stuff and misc mechanical items, sometimes, I need something a ...

Re: Bowed Gantry?
Huh, ok, I'm printing fine right now, not too concerned about squareness yet, but I'll give you guys a call just in case I missed something. Thanks Rick.
