Marked leveling screws/wingnuts?
Just got the V4 extruder and my printer prints my highly detailed models superbly! Its print quality is even better than my other printers. But, there's one more thing I'd like to figure out. On my other printers, they use wingnuts for leveling the bed. I've devised a system where I've marked one en...

Re: E3D V6
Quality control doesn't mean every produced part is either good or bad. It's more about percentages - 10% can't do this but 90% can, etc... Makergear, in my experience, has a 100% success rate with its products whereas my particular experience with E3D is around 0%. That doesn't mean that it's overa...

Re: E3D V6
The E3D would leak with my PLA, but it wouldn't leak with my ABS. Something in the design and/or installation done by someone before I got it causes this issue (Someone installed the heatbreak incorrectly into the heat-cartridge block is possible). I don't have tons of "free time" to fix other peopl...

Re: Looking for software
Sketchup lets you do this. However, it needs to be a "manifold" shape which is often hard to maintain after manipulating a model so many times. I find I have to check if it's manifold every step along the way just to allow boolean operations.

Re: E3D V6
Looked at it more closely, where the leak is between the heat cartridge block and the heat break, and I don't think a PTFE tube is going to keep the plastic contained. The tube doesn't insert inside the heat cartridge block and create an adequate seal, so it'd continue leaking regardless if I put a ...

Re: E3D V6
Eh, I'll install the tube soon enough. Tightened the heat break into the heatsink body, seems like it's still leaking. It appears to be leaking from the connection between the cartridge-heat-block and the heatbreak (It's coming up from the heatblock, which then leaks around its sides and then onto t...

Re: E3D V6
You're supposed to tighten the heat-break? Lol, didn't see that in the youtube video. (Yep, now I see, lol. Yes, it was fairly loose.) The youtube video also didn't mention the use of the PTFE tube. Am I supposed to use it on my makergear m2? I thought it was meant for use with 'grabby' filaments li...

Re: M2 Kit Sales To Pause
If the price of the kit was the same as the price of an assembled machine I would not buy the kit and I doubt anyone else would either. They primary factor was saving money, and $75 an hour isn't a bad rate for assembling your own machine. Being familiar with the machine is nice, but not worth spen...

Re: E3D V6
Huh, weird issue here. Started printing some white PLA I have and it seems like the extruder is leaking around the top of the nozzle where it attaches to the heat block? I can't see it leaking, but it seems like a pool of plastic starts forming there which accumulates and gets deposited on my model ...

Re: M2 Kit Sales To Pause
I bought a kit because it was the cheapest machine with the largest build area (And had at least 4-star reviews on Amazon; That was a year ago, now there's many more 3d printers with at least 4 stars on Amazon.). If I were forced to pay $300 more, I would've bought a competitor's machine instead. Mo...
