Re: Shifted mid-section

Thanks, guys. I'm just worried that the solvent will turn the crack into a break. I'm going to see if I can print one the way it is and then print several more. If not, can they be purchased?

Re: Shifted mid-section

This might explain it! Unfortunately, I have two of these printers and one is broken and the other cracked, so I probably cannot even print a replacement.

Shifted mid-section

OK, I gave up on my recent troubles with ABS on one of our M2 printers and shifted to PLA on our other printer. Guess what . . . it failed again and again and again. The whole print seems to shift back and forth in the mid section during printing. The object is very well connected to the glass, so i...

Re: Strange ABS Prints

The picture of the fill is about an inch and a half above the glass. It stuck very well that time (pried it off with a razor blade), but the fill came out blobby as the picture shows. In the flat one, the object wasn't quite level, but it has printed properly before several times. I've definitely ha...

Strange ABS Prints

I've gotten several prints out of this printer recently with ABS and it worked fine. Recently, it started acting strange. The fill is blobby, the first layer is inconsistent, the layers separate easily after printing, and sometimes the surface comes out bubbly. Sometimes there's a slight burning sme...

Re: Simplify3D/Makergear issue

Thanks, everyone. For CAD, we use PTC Creo because we're a school with robotics teams and PTC gave the software to the schools for free. But even when the objects were combined in Creo, there were still issues with intersections. I don't know what manifold edges are. I guess I'll be looking into tha...

Re: Simplify3D/Makergear issue

Thanks, Josh. Yes, there are different models in there because we've recreated 15 times trying to figure out these issues. It's printing again now, but I'm not holding my breath. Some of those were combined in CAD, others were combined in Creator. Creator 2.0 was supposed to fix my intersection issu...

Re: Simplify3D/Makergear issue

The thing that baffles me is that I've printed this object before and the letters were fine. The project failed for other reasons (as it almost always does). I had issues with joined objects making holes in each other and falling over during prints (see images below). It was recommended that I upgra...

Simplify3D/Makergear issue

I have a file that I'm trying to print. It's a mammoth on an oval base with some text on the base. When I drop the object onto the Simplify3D workspace, it looks great. Then, when I prepare it to print, half of the text is missing. I printed it anyhow to see if it was just an issue with my display o...

Simplify3D Creator

Is there any way to physically merge two objects in Simplify3D Creator? I tried just setting one on top of (and a little inside) the other, but it carves a circle out of the bottom one and then the top one just falls over during the print.
