Dale Reed: The non-crossing factor of 100 on the gear part only reduced fine threads by 25-50%, but the threads that it produced seemed to be a bit thicker and there was a reduction in perimeter outline quality (i.e. look at the outer edges of each picture I posted and you can see that the one with ...
Re: esun petg
Short story: "Avoid Crossing Outline" doesn't help with the PETG strings. Long story: I would avoid using "avoid crossing outline"; the reduction of strings is minimal, the amount of movement during printing is increased and the outer layers seem to end up worse off (noticeably less sharp imo). I th...
Re: esun petg
If the avoid crossing outline factor does what it shows in the print preview it should remove all the fine hairs. For the print shown (scaled by 1.5) it only adds 1 minute to the build time. The fine hairs isn't what drove me into looking into this; instead I was watching it print and was annoyed th...
Re: esun petg
Simplify3D "Avoid Crossing Outline" and PETG; anyone use that feature? My PETG prints are looking good, however I do get very thin strings (essentially inconsequential from a usability standpoint) where the nozzle crosses the outline. Anyone use "avoid crossing outline" to get rid of the thin string...
Re: esun petg
My print speed is 3200mm/min. I am in no rush for prints to complete; more interested in print quality and learning since I don't print that often at the moment. By the way I set the bed temp to 100c because printing straight on the glass, no hairspray, gluestick, kapton, blue tape, etc. At 90c it w...

Re: M2 Dual - Extendable Right Filament Guide
Cool, glad you like it. I feel silly continuing this thread considering it's such a simple assembly but... Did you print the 4.8mm P2 and used it with the stock tube OR did you print the 4.6mm P2 and used it with the McMaster Teflon tube OR did you do some other combination? The 4.6mm P2 fit perfect...
Re: esun petg
with s3d v3.0 there is no need to use the high infill % anymore. that was only to compensate for s3d only printing infill every other layer. Oh ok, it makes sense why he had it set to 200% since the process file was made before s3d v3. When calibrating, keep the first layer at 100% and use the g-co...
Re: esun petg
Loaded up some translucent green esun petg filament on my right nozzle; definitely a headache to get right. So far only done the perimeter calibration using the 20mmx20mmx2mm model but I got that perfected. Used rsilver's "M2-0.35mm" process file set to petg and medium. First let me say that I very ...

Re: M2 Dual - Extendable Right Filament Guide
Here's an old thread with my early attempt at a wiper: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1431 It didn't really work very well, and I gave up on it. The code on that thread will be very helpful for me if/when I attempt the wiper since I don't know the commands yet. Looks like a good idea but the kapton tape on a...

Re: M2 Dual - Extendable Right Filament Guide
You're very welcome; I'm glad someone else has a use for it. If you notice any problems with it let me know. I hear you about the to-do list. Next I'm gonna come up with a wiper vessel that attaches to the right side, maybe to an extension off the right side spool holder. Also want to add some beari...
