Re: Aging of PETG Filament?

I have some PETG that is maybe two years old, stored in the house and in sealed zip lock bags. How long are these good for and should I just test or toss?

Re: M2 Fire Report

You can not depend on electronics or circuits to be the fire shut off. The only really approved way and its UL listed is a thermal fuse mounted to sense over temperature and positively break by mechanical means, the power to the heater. Think toaster, coffee pot, space heaters and the like. A UL lis...

But hey, I love the Makergear M2, so I will probably still pony up for a M3 soon.

Re: M2 model

Does anyone out there have a model of the M2? I am going to design an enclosure and It would be helpful to have a model. So if someone had a model or a real M2 where are you located and do you plan on seeing it in person? There are dimensions published on the website over on MakerGear and more than...

Re: Calibration Screw loosening during long prints

Re: Buying help

All 3D printers take some time to learn. 3D printing is not the answer for every project. This Forum is a great resource for the MakerGear. At one time I had another very well known brand, also made in USA. The build quality of the M2/M3 gives it a advantage over the other brands. It just works. The...

Re: M2 Fire Report

i have always said that 3d printer of any make and model need a secondary, independent overtemp shutdown. i have looked for small thermal switches before but like insta, i have not been able to find any with a high enough temp. i am actually surprised you dont hear about more accidents like this ha...

Re: M2 Fire Report

If I had a concern and I do not because my printing is done away from any combustibles I would wire in a Thermal fuse in series with the extruder heater. Non- resettable one time. Oops I see insta already suggested. It could be lower rated than the heater temp, just mounted close by and not on it. T...
