Re: convert M3 to M2?

Support sent me this - The M3 firmware doesn't use an SD card reader, so that would need to be configured before an SD card reader would be compatible. You could revert to the M2 firmware but then we'd lose the probe functionality

convert M3 to M2?

I have spent more time trying to get it to work (which it does intermittently), with far too much stress and some expense in addition (wiring an ethernet, a new pi, and parts that failed and had to be replaced such as the motor and nozzles) in addition to the initial cost of the unit. Can I just con...

Re: printing the y-axis too short

That makes sense....I think. It must be something in the firmware. The M2 with the new motor was printing +10% on the y-axis. The M3, using the old M2 motor, was -10% on the y-axis. But now the M2 and M3, with the motors swapped, print fine now with the belt tension the same or very close to what it...

Re: printing the y-axis too short

And Makergear support wrote: "There shouldn't be any reason why swapping the Y-axis motors on both machines should have resolved the dimensional issue, unless the belt tension was really loose on one of your machines. The step count is controlled by the RAMBo board and the firmware and both motors s...

Re: printing the y-axis too short

I had put the M2 motor onto the M3 when that motor was acting up a couple of months ago. I had forgotten that I put my new motor when it arrived onto the old (2016) M2 and left the other motor on the M3. The low voltage warning, which Makergear support says to ignore, wouldn't have a bearing on the ...

Re: M2 Quick Start y postion off the bed

I swapped motors between the M3 and the M2 ..And the cube tests now appear square. The Quick start now works correctly as well. I had put the M2 motor onto the M3 when that motor was acting up a couple of months ago. I had forgotten that I put my new motor when it arrived onto the old (2016) M2. Ho...
