Re: Possible bad Stainless Steel nozzles

Another update: Now they have decided they will replace the nozzles. At this point, however I an too disgusted at their attempt to act like there wasn't any issue to even care. I refuse to believe that I received the only two nozzles that were out of spec, and that they didn't know that they have a ...

Re: Possible bad Stainless Steel nozzles

Update: I picked up some small drill bits in order to get a better measurement of the hole than by extrusion. A .45 drill bit slides easily into the hole of a new cold stainless steel tip. A .5 will not slide in, but I believe if I were to heat it to extrusion temperature it probably would. I just d...

Re: Possible bad Stainless Steel nozzles

Might want to measure the hole with a calipers then - they might be out of spec. I don't have the tools to measure the inside of the hole with calipers. That would be a mighty small set of calipers. All I can do is measure the extrusion that comes out. I am pretty sure that they are out of spec, I ...

Possible bad Stainless Steel nozzles

I recently bought a new hot end and 2 new .35 Stainless Steel nozzles. Today I got a nozzle clog and put on one of the ss nozzles. When I put a caliper on the extrusion it is coming out at .49. I swapped to the other new ss nozzle and got the same reading. I pulled the brass nozzle off my new hot en...

Re: Problems Printing ABS

I agree with the above comments. Whenever I go from PLA to ABS I find that I need to adjust the z-stop. It can be frustrating to wonder why it was printing so perfectly and suddenly the mechanical settings are wrong. Just remember, More heat means more expansion. That includes the bed thickness. On ...

Re: control board issue I think

For the moment it seems to be printing. I reloaded Marlin on the board, and flipped the z motor plug around so i wouldn't have to make the code changes for the black and silver motor. That seems to have fixed it. EDIT It turns out that more was required to work with the new loading of Marlin than ju...

Re: control board issue I think

Are you sure that the bed did not hit the nozzle when it rose to the top? (Raise the nozzle in the clamp to test it.) (And the firmware is correct for that model?) And that's it for my ideas. :? It does hit the nozzle, because it is not doing anything with the input from the micro switch. Even if I...

Re: control board issue I think

I have checked the continuity from the z stop micro-switch to the board and all is well. I have checked both the switch and the plug for shorts. After looking at a diagram for the RAMBo board, i tried jumping the + & - pins of the min z end stop port directly during homing z. This has absolutely no ...
