Re: What have I fried?
So MakerGear tech support were super helpful as usual, and I was super stupid. Because I had the extruder all apart and was only focused on the extruder motor gear, I forgot the hotend has to be heated up above 170C before the firmware will let the extruder motor turn – doh! All working good now. Th...

Re: What have I fried?
Well I searched through the forums for a ready made firmware that swaps to use extruder 1, and couldn't find anything. I picked up a few tips, and had a look at the code – it looks like it specifically says to use 1 extruder and would need changing to use ext1 instead of ext0, but I do not feel conf...

Re: What have I fried?
Come to think of it, you can plug the extruder cable into the E1 socket, tell S3D to use Extruder 1, and it should Just Work. Certainly worth trying ... [grin] Yeah, I tried that with no success. Maybe it's not that simple, or maybe both are fried :-/ I'll try swapping to E1 on my working M2 to see...

Re: What have I fried?
Fuses arrived and fitted. Everything working except extruder drive motor. Testing indicates the Rambo is not sending a signal to motor – swapped Z-axis and extruder connectors on Rambo; extruder works, Z-axis doesn't. I guess that means replacement Rambo needed? The extruder nozzle and filament driv...

Re: LED Lighting with RF remote control
Hi, thanx for confirming where to draw the power. So I see in principle where to get 24v from, but how the heck does one physically get to it? I can see the back of the contacts on the inside of the power connector, that one could theoretically solder to, but it looks way too close to other componen...

Re: LED Lighting with RF remote control
Hello Makergear Techies, I'd like to add LED lighting to my M2 v4 (24v PSU.) Reading this thread and looking at the electronics drawing here http://makergear.wikidot.com/m2-electronics I can't quite figure out where I can draw the power for LED strip. Can someone clarify exactly where and how I can ...

What have I fried?
Hi Makergear Tech Support community – may I beg a little advice please? I was trying to fix a friends faulty M2. The extruder feed was jammed. Unfortunately, another problem was that the wires to the small fan on the front of the extruder feed assembly were previously broken off and hanging free, an...
