Why don't you connect the output of Simplify3d or whatever you use to control the M2 to a serial port and see what it sends? Then replicate that traffic in matlab. There are USB analyzers for windows.

Not sure of the correctness of this, but what I do is heat the extruder by turning it on in the manual controls. Once up to temperature, I back out the filament by running the extruder back 100. Once it comes out, I put in the new filament, and run the extruder forward till the remaining old filamen...
