Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

That makes a lot of sense. I simply thought for a long time that my configuration was incorrect and didn't really give any consideration to the mechanical limitations. I did also try mesh bed leveling and faced a similar situation there, so I think it's likely the same scenario whether you are mesh ...

Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

Yes I've tried un-leveling the bed and can see the Z adjustments occurring, but I also noticed that the end quality of the print wasn't as great as it usually is (I guess this is to be expected). Although pretty good, I know my bed isn't perfectly level and so was hoping the get the auto-leveling to...

Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

have you guys noticed that if your bed is already pretty level, auto-bed leveling does nothing? I wanted to get my bed pretty level to start then have the BLTouch do the fine tuning, but it doesnt do the fine tuning.

Marlin apparently uses the same value for all Z-axis moves, whether they're homing or bed probing.
Awesome, this looks like what I need. Will give it a try tonight and let you know how I get on.

Re: Severe warping on large print

ok thanks Ed, I think I'll try to give ears a go first. Although the bed is almost all in use, so I'll just have to fit in what I can where I can!

Re: Severe warping on large print

hmm thanks Jules. I may try some hairspray tonight. I thought a layer of hairspray would cover the PEI and basically negate it's effects. Is bed temperature going to make any difference? In my mind making it hotter is going to make things worse, as the temperature differential will be higher, but I'...

Re: Severe warping on large print

This was printed in PLA with no fancy bevels etc. It's a shame to hear that it might not print well. This is a personal project and I purposely avoided sharp corners thinking they were much more likely to warp than rounded corners, but it sounds like corners full stop are not good! Do you know how m...

Severe warping on large print

I printed an object that fills the entire print bed, and while the first few layers went down well, I woke up this morning to find the print had warped at the corners quite significantly. I was quite surprised to see this as the corners have a fairly large radius and the first layer was squished wel...

Re: BLTouch Auto Leveling Sensor

I installed a BLTouch and I can get it to work as expected, but during the second/slow probe, the pin drops and strikes the bed as the bed doesn't seem to drop enough to give the probe enough clearance to deploy. I can only imagine this will result in an erroneous reading. Anybody else having the sa...

Re: Best support settings/orientation for this print

I completely agree. The orders I generally get through on 3D hubs are for £1 or £2 and are really not worth the effort. I know I could increase my prices, but then no orders come in. I therefore chose to close my account and as Jim says, focus on my own prints.
