Re: Scaling and Horizontal Offset

Thanks! I will have to experiment, but my assumption was that the scaling settings you show are associated with the model, and not the process. That's not how I work. I come up with scaling for the process using the Calibration Cross and apply that to whatever model I am printing with that process....

Re: Scaling and Horizontal Offset

I use the scaling factors on the part settings on the main screen. S3D-Scale.JPG Horizontal Offset is called Horizontal Offset on the OTHER tab. S3D-Offset.JPG Z scaling is machine dependent, not material dependent. Doing that once should be enough. The X-Y scaling and offset will change with materi...

Are these parameters good for an M2?
Accelerations would be on the high side, probably, but there isn't a "best" with these settings. It's finding the compromise that works best for the parts and your personal priorities - speed/acceleration/jerk all work together to impact print quality.

Here's what I run these days
M201 X2000 Y2000 E1000 Z900 ; acceleration
M205 X20 Z1.0 E10 ; jerk
Are you still using these settings for your M2?
My M2 is no longer in service, so no.

Re: PETG your favorite brand?

I like Hatchbox PETG, but they have serious supply problems and can be out of stock at all suppliers for weeks. I went through a few PETG brands a couple months back. I tested eSun, 3D Best, Inland, and MG Chemicals - all in black. I selected MG Chemicals as my new standard for PETG. It isn't as glo...

Re: use stainless nozzles for everything?

Heat transfer in stainless steel sucks compared to brass. If trying to print fast, I could imagine a situation where the tip of the nozzle cannot maintain temperature as the plastic passing through it draws out the heat - and transfer through the material can't keep up with the demand. Thermal condu...

Re: Problem in large print

Are those X/Y shifts in the print, or ridges? Looks like shifting to me.
