Re: Where is the Makergear User Community?

The impression I have is they are being bought mostly by schools and small manufacturing operations, both of whom need solid, reliable machines that are hard to break. which is exactly why I suggested the M3-ID for our application. We run the machines all day long making prints for patrons. Just ne...

Re: Ultra One Bed Leveling Procedure

Thanks for the info. I decided against the Ultra One and opted to get another copy of the machines I'm already running just for the sake of having everything the same.

Where is the Makergear User Community?

My first 3D printer was an M2 back in 2016. I outgrew it and moved to another make - but at the time this forum was an invaluable resource and I learned a TON from the other users. Based on my recommendations the library digital media lab where I'm now working part time just bought a few M3-ID machi...

@Zemlin, did you get an answer to your question?
Nope. Haven't asked the folks at Makergear directly.

Re: Ultra One Bed Leveling Procedure

I am considering an Ultra One printer as an upgraded to my Raise3D N2. My understanding is that the Ultra One uses a Duet3D control board. I replaced the factory controllers on my Raise printers with Duet2 Wifi boards. I also added a BLTouch probe for bed leveling/mapping. I know the Ultra One has t...

Re: Scaling and Horizontal Offset

I see in the excel sheet the offset for all X, Y, and Z must be equal. What does it do to the calibration? Sorry for the slow response - I don't hang out here much anymore (no MakerGear printers these days) ... Slicers I've used have a shared horizontal offset value for X and Y, but it doesn't appl...

Re: Scaling and Horizontal Offset

IMHO, it's all within the realm of realistic manufacturing tolerances. A small difference between pulley diameters for the belts could impact the travel distance. The belts are toothed so that would help minimize it, but I don't believe a small difference between axes is something to be concerned ab...

Re: PETG bonds to PEI like superglue!

I have printed LOTS of PETG, almost exclusively on PEI sheet. To remove parts, I use a 1/2" wood chisel. I lay the back side of the blade flat against the build plate and put the cutting edge of the chisel right at the contact point between the sheet and the part. A light tap with a plastic hammer i...

Re: Quieter Fans

Zipped step file attached. There are a couple square bosses that hang from the upper housing. Those are for a ceramic resistor I used to slow the fan. You can remove those if you have other plans electrically. This attached to the grill features on the electronics box with over-sized washers to cove...
