Re: Simplify3D Version 4.0 just got released.
So is the general consensus that it is worthwhile to upgrade to 4 or just stay on 3, given that 4 seems to still have some bugs.....?

Re: What Is Wrong?
Ok thanks for the input. I set the check box in Simplify3D to turn the fan on for layer prints of <45 seconds and that seems to have helped a lot.

Zebraplate. Never worry about hairspray or adhesion again. Never worry about broken glass again either.

Re: What Is Wrong?
Ok, thanks for the input. I am only printing at 208/200 (and this is PLA). I did reduce the temp somewhat and it got better. Still a bit of this though. Will play with the settings a bit. What temp do most people print PLA? I am seeing some pretty high temps (like 220) on the forums.

What Is Wrong?
Was messing around with Simplify3D settings and now all my prints are like this. I changed the layer height but had changed it back... seems almost like Simplify3D isn't recognizing that I changed it back.

Re: Computer requirements for M2
If it's just for the printing, I recommend a Raspberry Pi with OctoPi. Total cost about $50. You just use the web interface to upload your gcode files to it and tell it to print. You can put a webcam on it and print from anywhere (technically). I use it to print from my office to my printer (which i...

Re: Can't get Z End Stop Correct
If it's not sticking to the glass plate, then your options are: - Sand the Kapton tape on the glass plate a bit with fine sandpaper to increase the roughness/make it easier to stick - Use gluestick on the plate to help it adhere - Puddle hairspray (Aquanet is preferable I believe) on the plate and l...

Re: replcement for the M2 glass?
I recommend trying the zebra plate if you haven't. I switched to it and will never go back to glass. Adhesion problems are basically non-existent. The only concerns are keeping the thing flat after lots of use but I haven't had that problem.

Re: Hydrogen Generator
Printing at 10,000 mm/min now and still getting good results. I never thought I'd see myself printing into the red zone in S3D! A frame that used to take about an hour to print is now taking 27 minutes :) Just read this whole thread. Pretty amazing and not something I would have the confidence to d...

I use a lot of eSun PLA and ABS, but also a lot of 3D Solutech PLA (which is made in the USA).
