Re: Diagnose this PETG problem
It looks like many of the perimeter threads pulled loose from the infill on those protruding features, which happens more on concave surfaces like the inside of that sheet. Print the infill pattern first, then the perimeter threads, so they have something to hang onto. Yeah, there are a bunch of th...

Diagnose this PETG problem
I've read other posts on the forum about printing PETG and have adopted most of those print settings, but I'm still experiencing some issues. The outside of this piece looks pretty nice, but the inside surface, where all of the layer changes occur looks pretty bad (see attached picture). It has blob...

Re: My enclosure
Thank you. I designed it in Solidworks, so I just need to figure out the best way to put the design out there because I'm sure most people don't have access to it.jferguson wrote:alackofcolor,
Well it's just plain superb. It would be wonderful if you could share your design.

Re: My enclosure
alackofcolor, That is a very nice enclosure and especially the connectors. I like how you've set it up for a sliding panel. Have you found that the single slider is sufficient for ordinary access to the M2? What do you do when you need more access? With the bed all the way down, I find that it's mo...

Re: My enclosure
Yeah, it looks big, but there's really no wiggle room left in there. Probably less than a quarter inch in all directions.

My enclosure
I figured I'd post pictures of the enclosure I designed. It's based on 1/4'' plexiglass, held together by 3D printed brackets. The spool is mounted on the outside of the box to keep it small and a routed slot is cut in the top to feed the filament in. The front panel slides up giving generous access...

Re: Weird texture on underside of prints
These are great suggestions everyone, thanks. I'm already printing at 0.1 mm, and my extrusion width is 0.40 with the newest nozzle installed. I never knew you could make that wider. I noticed that I was printing from the outside-in, which I'm definitely going to change now. I'm also going to decrea...

Re: Weird texture on underside of prints
Well here's a pictures of the the same part (printed in two pieces) that I found, printed with a different printer. The underside of theirs is smooth after the support was removed.

Weird texture on underside of prints
I'm getting a strange, rough texture on the underside of prints that have a domed top (see attached picture). This seems to occur with and without support. Printing with Hatchbox filament, 220 C, with Simplify3D. Any idea what causes this and how I can get a smoother texture on the underside? IMG_42...

Glass cracked during leveling
So I was leveling my new Makergear M2 according to the instructions in the Quick Start app when I heard a loud crack, which upon inspection was caused by one of the allen screws driving into the glass plate and breaking the corner off. Looking at it closer, I noticed that unlike the other three corn...
