Re: Bridging Quality has gotten really bad

Thanks jsc & Tim! I can't help but think something odd is going on with my printer. There is support beneath that area and I've had success printing similar objects in the past. I've also had the wavey filament issue a few posts down so I've started to wonder if I have some sort of issue like belt t...

Re: Second nozzle sits higher than first. Is this right?

I don't own a dual, but I think they should be the same distance off the build plate. It's for an older rev of the printer, but see this thread.

Bridging Quality has gotten really bad

I used to have excellent bridging performance on my printer, but recently it's really gone down hill. I realize this is a relatively large distance, but I used to get considerably better results. bridging_fail.jpg This is using Makergear PLA at 220 C. I've used various bridging settings ranging from...

Re: What Does this wave pattern in the extruded filament mea

Thanks! That seems to have fixed it. It's odd--I've been using these settings for Makergear white PLA for many months. I wonder if this spool is different from the others.

What Does this wave pattern in the extruded filament mean

When purging the nozzle before prints I've recently started seeing this odd wave pattern (see picture) in what comes out of the nozzle. I've started seeing a corresponding odd surface texture on prints at higher print speeds (strangely, slow print speeds don't show this). Bridging now also doesn't w...

Re: Most Rigid Material?

As an update to this, here are my findings: The Carbon Fiber PLA (Protopasta) was stiffest, but also was quite easy to permanently deform. Like all PLA, even modest heating caused serious warping, but I think it also just likes to deform under pressure. The Polycarbonate didn't produce great results...

Re: Most Rigid Material?

Thanks everyone! I ordered both the carbon fiber PLA and the eSun Polycarbonate filaments. I'll try the Carbon Fiber PLA first because I know PLA better. This is a part of a larger prototype that will eventually go into production using either injection modeling or machined aluminum so I can't reall...

Re: Most Rigid Material?

Thanks Jimc & Phil!

I assume I can run the Carbon PLA w/ basically the same settings and regular PLA.

For ePC, are you printing on to Kapton + hairspray? Also, how badly does epc smell?

Most Rigid Material?

I've only ever printed in PLA, but I'm trying to print a part that needs to be very rigid and normal Makergear PLA, even with 100% infill is too flexible. Is there another filament that would be more rigid? I'm not particularly worried about strength and would be willing to sacrifice strength for ri...

Re: The MakerGear Website - input requested

I'm a new M2 user and I've found most of the important information on this forum (special thanks to Jules)! That said, I don't think that users should have to come to the forum to get up and running and I suspect the early questions I had are pretty common. I'd strongly suggest building a good "docu...
