EAA offers solidworks to its members
The EAA (experimental aircraft association) now has an agreement with solidworks to let its members use solidworks free of charge for their personal use. Membership is $40 year and you will also get their magazine which is usually pretty good. http://www.eaa.org/en/eaa/eaa-news-and-aviation-news/new...

Re: PETG not sticking
Flipping it over would result in even more support. I was hoping there was some setting I was unaware of, but it seems like the best option may be to just edit the G code to reduce the gap only on the 1st layer after the support material. The printer is a pre E rev that I removed the bed springs fro...

PETG not sticking
I'm having a problem with PETG overhangs when using PLA support. The red is PETG and the Black is the PLA support. The support has 2 100% dense support layers. The problem seems to be the nozzle is to high above the support for the PETG it to stick. If I turn the manual Z adjust clockwise one click j...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea
You may be able to do drill the holes with a good bit/center punch if your careful. I just used a mill because it was available. I purchased the metal mounts from Makergear, I think they were around $20. A suggestion for drilling them without a mill would be to buy 2 of the mounts and carefully mark...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea
Tim, The metal mount normally uses the front 2 holes in the carriage. I just flipped it around and used the back 2 holes. This requires drilling 2 new holes in the motor mount with the new holes being just behind the old ones. You would need to measure and make sure, but I think I remember them bein...

Re: New and different dual extruder idea
I'm new to the forum here and just came across this thread, but have had a M2 at work for a year or so and recently got a lightly used one to play with at home. I upgraded the work one a while back to the factory dual extruder but wanted to do something a little different with my personal one. I did...

Re: Removing bed springs
Thanks the pictures were exactly what I was looking for. McMaster sells Nylon tipped set screws which should work well for the side locking screws.

Re: Removing bed springs
As someone mentioned several post above I don't see why the same end result cannot be achieved by removing the springs and replacing them with a couple of washers. The existing spider can then be drilled and tapped on each corner for the new leveling screws. I'm willing to try this but would like to...

Re: Removing bed springs
I've looked online for a picture of the Rev E bed but have not been able to find any that show good detail. Would someone mind making a couple and posting? A closeup of the leveling screws/bed holddown would be nice also.
Thanks,
Mike

Re: Removing bed springs
Is moving the endstop to the underside of the bed all that is required to be able to use REV E Firmware? I've tried this and am having some problems. When homing the bed comes down and touches the switch, the light comes on but the motor keeps trying to go down. Is anything else required? Edit I hav...
