PETG bonds to PEI like superglue!

Hi, I use to have problems with prints warping when printing on Kapton tape or glass. I tried hairspray and Elmers glue on glass, which improved the situation, but still allowed some warping. About a month ago I switched to PEI; I purchased a sheet of PEI, cut it to 8x10 and used the double sided ta...

Re: Very initial feed is not sticking

You guys know your stuff. I tried last night spraying Garnier Fructus hairspray all over the glass plate. I then printed a rather large rectangular box that was giving me warping issues (the corners would warp off the plate). The thing printed perfectly flat... not a single fraction of a millimeter ...

Re: Very initial feed is not sticking

You're doing it the hard way. :) The thing with using a bare glass plate.....you have to have the gap between the nozzle and the glass set perfectly . And the folks doing the demos are experts. It's actually harder to print on bare glass, and if you are just getting started, give yourself a break a...

Re: Very initial feed is not sticking

Bare glass sticks well at first, but easily picks up contaminants that decrease its sticking power. Put down a layer of glue stick or hair spray and it will stick well no matter its cleanliness. If you don't want to bother with such flim flammery, you can clean the bed with dishwashing detergent un...

Very initial feed is not sticking

Hi, I am having a relatively new problem. I am using Simplify3D. At the beginning of my print I print a skirt using the standard settings in Simplify3D. Lately the very initial 1-2 cm of the extruded plastic fails to stick to the bed. It instead gets dragged by the extruder whereas the remainder of ...

Re: PLA suddenly not sticking to the build plate

Thank you for your suggestions. I will try these. If they do not work, I will post a video because I certainly appreciate the advice! I am perplexed why its suddenly become a problem though. I printed a good ~30 hours worth of parts without this problem. It suddenly began manifesting itself once I s...

PLA suddenly not sticking to the build plate

I have successfully printed several things using PLA but now suddenly it doesn't stick to the bed. Attached is a picture. I am using Simplify 3D with a heated bed temperature of 60C and an extruder temperature of 225C. I previously used the same setting to print hours of stuff. The filament I am usi...

How to set up Octopi?

Hi, I am new to the Makergear M2 so forgive what is probably a basic question. I've installed Octopi on a Raspberry 2 and I have it working. But I am not sure how to set it up for the Makergear M2. Do I need to install a plug-in? Or just create a printer profile? If I just have to create a profile, ...
