Re: PETG clogs in extruder

Just wanted to give a big thank you to Steve for staying with this problem and offering his suggestions. It is appreciated and I am sure someone else may or already has run into this problem. Turns out the inside path of the extruder body had some sort of material that was snagging the filament and ...

Re: PETG clogs in extruder

OK I have read all the guides including the very nice write-up that Jules shared. I have actually been using most of the settings from Jules write-up for the last 8 months printing solely with MakerGeeks 1.75 PETG with zero issues. Three days ago i had a clogged hotend that I removed and tried to re...

Re: PETG clogs in extruder

When I say "burn it out" I mean removing the hot end from the printer and using a propane torch to melt away all of the filament in the shaft and nozzle. I reinstall, level bed, extrude a small amount of filament, try another print and it clogs up within the first layer or two. When I put a piece of...

PETG clogs in extruder

Hello, Yesterday I started having issues with my PETG filament getting clogged in the extruder shaft. I have been using Maker Series 1.75 PETG filament for awhile now with zero issues. Now it seems I cannot get the clogging to cease. I have checked the tension on the extruder wheel, burned out extru...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Jules,

Thank you for the help. As you can see the print is much better with no pulling between layers. I have the temp at 242 for all layers now and increased the height of the first layer to 130%.

The filament is from Makergear.

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Thank you for the comments. The filament is the same. The first layer is printed at 247 and the others at 242, following Jules configuration. I tried a couple of more times and noticed that the nozzle is getting stringy and it seems to drag across the print causing the print to glob onto the nozzle....

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Thank for the replies. I am printing on Kapton but what you see is one filament color, grey. The first layer is printed at 247 and next layer is printed at 242, I guess the color change is due to that. I tried a couple of more prints and it looks like the nozzle is dragging through the layer. The fi...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

Hello all, I just started trying to print PETG. I followed Jules configuration setting and began with not much luck. I have a new M2 and was hoping someone would recognize the issue and lead me down the right path. This is my first print and as you can see the layers do not want to stick to each oth...

Restarting print when you accidently stop

Hello I am new here, just started my new M2 V4 about 3 days ago. I am using Simplify 3D and I clicked too close to the emergency stop button and killed the print process. I have searched this forum looking for a way to restart but I can't seem to find one. Do any of you experts have knowledge as to ...
