Re: Intermittent layer non adhesion?

I will try these suggestions, thanks. I have been down the filament tension road before, however, the v4 Rev E machine has finer gear teeth in the feeder and don't really look like those pictures in the guide, so for me at least, it makes it hard to tell if the bite is enough. I adjusted it about a ...

Intermittent layer non adhesion?

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

I also noticed that running my temps at about 235C after about layer 3 seems to virtually eliminate the burning, if they do get stuck on the nozzle and fall down they are still pretty much white. I have also noticed that keeping outline underspeed, and infill underspeed, and all those settings one c...

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

I will do some more testing in the increments also on my end to verify at 0.02 like you said.

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

So let's assume for a moment this has been fixed. I adjust my z-offset to get a nice perfect layer for my PETG material. My height now measures less than perfect, do we just live with that difference and call it within tolerance?

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

I'm pretty sure these calipers are fairly accurate since I've tested them extensively with metallic feeler gauges. Maybe the issue has been fixed in 3.1.0? That is the version I'm running.

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

Can you clarify whether you are referring to the Global Z-offset setting in Simplify 3D or the origin offset?

I did some tests and it would seem that the z-offset setting works perfectly fine, even down to the hundredths.

Am I looking at the wrong setting to adjust for my problem here?

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

Ok that makes sense, I see what you are saying. Thanks for clarifying that.

I think I have probably observed this behavior now that I think about it while previously adjusting things.

Thanks again.

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

Thanks for all the information! Not sure if this is a recent thing but the latest version of S3D does seem to allow you to specify the offset down to the hundredths, but I do like the idea of tweaking it directly from the console, seems like that would be much faster to dial it in. So my approach so...

Re: Is my nozzle partially clogged?

Oh, and I forgot to mention I had some questions regarding the Z offset and the Rev E. printers. I have seen it said that adjusting the z-offset in simplify does nothing on the Rev E., but I have experimented with it and it seems to work for me? Can someone explain the exact different with the z hei...
