Duh.... I figured it by myself... I think.... The XY and Z positioning the M2 does on restart/reset was determined using the default values the machine's EEPROM was supplied with... so of course, if I have set those values differently then of course it's gonna position everything in the wrong place....

Was dialing in my X and Y step values to get dimensionally accurate prints... or at least as accurate as I could. Working it out with a number of M92 statements. I use OpenSCAD almost exclusively specifically because of the control it gives me over tolerance. I've redefined all the base geometric object constructions to accommodate and allow for adjustments in tolerance.
