Re: Fula-flex 2.0

I'm actually having issues with PLA. I'll try reapplying the tape, it's a real pain! I've dialed in my z height very well, with calibration squares printing at 5.05mm height near the corners and 4.94 in the center (the glass bed must not be perfectly flat). I hadn't properly dialed it in when I had ...

Fula-flex 2.0

Does anyone have experience with the Fula-flex 2.0 product? I've been having some serious adhesion issues with the default kapton tape applied, even reapplied which went poorly with the provided 2 inch tape. I'll be trying hair spray directly on the glass, but have been looking at other options. I o...

Re: First layer great. Tops, not so much.

Number of top layers isn't really the issue. I'm not seeing infill underneath, I'm just seeing the previous 100% (still top layer) layer. I'll get back to you with infill extrusion width later when I can check my settings at home. But does infill extrusion width affect top (100% fill) layers? I glos...

First layer great. Tops, not so much.

I took a lot of advice from the forums to perfect a nice first layer. I even printed little test boxes to measure wall thickness to make sure the extrusion multiplier was correct. These 1 line thick walls and the floor (to test first layer) didn't prove another issue though. Top layers (or filled la...

Re: nema17 dampers

I ordered two of the dampers and mine come with a significant amount of the rubber molded out onto the mating faces of the metal (the face that goes against the motor and the other face that goes against the M2 chassis). Should I slice this off or will it not have any effect? The original link insta...

Re: If speed were adjustable by factors other than layer

Yea I've tried that as a workaround. It helps some. The most helpful is just slowing the print, which is something I'm not always willing to sacrifice to help the corners. Also there's the unfortunate side effect of if I didn't design it, I don't have a choice in the matter

Re: Visualizing 3D Printed Thread Dimensions

I did the perfect first layer thing, just with the naive approach of using the 0.25mm feeler gauge with the assumption that that height was essentially the first layer height instead of it being a default gap accounted for by the machine. That's why I had to set the global z-offset in my settings to...

Re: If speed were adjustable by factors other than layer

Really? I've tried lowering the default acceleration and that doesn't seem to change much. I had it at 600 and was only printing at 80mm/sec and still got significant ringing at corners.

If speed were adjustable by factors other than layer

I was thinking about this today (and I'm not sure of the possibility of something like a plugin for S3D or another slicer), but I would love for speed to be adjustable by a factor other than layer. For instance: change in drawing angle. It's frustrating sometimes to sacrifice time for quality of cor...

Re: Visualizing 3D Printed Thread Dimensions

I did work through the Rev E beginners guide. But I guess I may be a bit more confused now... According to the perfect first layer post let's say my layer heights are supposed to be 0.25. Why then do I do z-height adjustments (with M500 and whatnot) after having gone through the entire bed leveling ...
