Re: Full scale BB-8 droid.

I'd LOVE to see a build log of that masterpiece. Any pictures taken along the way? ooooh yes. A lot of them.My build blog is sadly lagging behind, but I will get around to update it and upload the pics from the last months there and post a link here for the interested party. Most of it is pics of p...

Re: Full scale BB-8 droid.

Un- freaking -BELIEVABLE! That looks like the real thing! Fantastic job! :D (And I'm trying to figure out what portion of the creation of the one on the right was accomplished with a 3d printer....ROFL!) Tank you kindly! To be fair, The blue lens in the holo projector and the see through lens...

Re: Mic 6 tooling plate

I got my plate today! MANY Thanks to jimc for making it for me and sending it all the way to Europe! Good timing as I got fed up about the core heatbed on my M2 being slightly buckled up in the middle, and this has caused the nozzle to scrape my print surface (BuildTak) slightly when it sticks aroun...

Re: thread-locking insert for Z-stop screw

I took a normal wingnut and screwed it in from under the gantry holding the build plate. This means, I can adjust the Z endstop screw without tools at all. I losen the wingnut, then gently rotate the screw, then fix it in place with the wingnut again. Cheap, and works, and much easier than tools. Up...

Re: M2 Auto-Leveling Kit (Beta)

So, finally got my MIC-6 plate from Jimc, thank you kindly for that! I soldered in the resistors on my cable leading up to the induction sensor, but I'm still wondering where to take the voltage driving the probe from. I have weighted my resistors for it to work well with 24V, since I run my M2 with...

Re: OctoPrint... thoughts?

I use the pi camera module with mine at the moment.
Works great, easy to use.

Since the cable is rather short, it really can't be elsewhere than on the pi =)

Re: I think my extruder stepper driver might have died..

After running a series of test with Josh, it has been verified that the stepper driver seems bust.

For now, I have switched over to E1 as extruder, but I seem to need to send a M502 before printing every time, as M500 does not store the settings.

Re: OctoPrint... thoughts?

I do all my prints from Octoprint, running on a raspberry Pi. The octopi distribution is very simple to install onto the raspberry, and very easy to maintain. Basically it is plug and play ;) You can run octoprint from an old pc, an old mac or whatever, but since a raspberry pi is increadibly cheap ...
