Re: M3 Wi-FI MAC Address
You should be able to find the MAC address using the router itself (my Verizon gateway and my old Linksys router can). As long as you are connected to the raspi, you should be able to run "arp -a" in cmd (on your computer) to get a list and just figure out which is the raspi. I do not know why you a...

Re: Simplify3D Version 4.0 just got released.
S3D 4 installs into a different folder, so you can have both installed at the same time. I'm unsure if/how the profiles are separated, so I would make a full backup of the v3 just in case. I'm using 4 and haven't found a need to go back, but I still have 3 installed as a backup should the need arise.

Re: anyone know if the THE OLSSON RUBY Nozzle works with the
The MakerGear V4 hotend is not an E3D hotend. The MG V4 nozzles have female threads, so the RUBY will not be compatible. Email them and share your interest. They will only make other versions if there are enough potential buyers.

Re: Possible to re-use quick-start app?
Download the app from here: https://www.makergear.com/pages/get-started Extract the entire archive into a folder, not just the .exe, and run. You may need to re-register if you lost your activation key. Save the key somewhere as I think it does not change. Are you getting any specific errors when tr...

Re: Octoprint Load Time (what's normal?)
This is definitely a routing issue, then. I am not an expert on networking so I don't know how much I can continue helping. Try running "arp -a" in cmd and see if it outputs the IPs of all connected devices . If it is just the Octopi missing, then there is the problem. If you are missing multiple, I...

Re: Quick Start starts platform with a gap b/w it and hot en
The app limits the 1mm increments to 2mm. Use the 0.1mm increments to bring it up further. 15mm seems like a rather far distance, though.

Re: octopi print - does it add any code to file?
Out of the box, Octopi does not add any code to the files. You will need to set up the config if you decide to upload STLs and slice on the board instead of uploading gcode files.

Re: Octoprint Load Time (what's normal?)
I use OctoPrint with my M2. It should load pretty quickly; less than a second. Are you in a congested network area (apartment complex with many other wifi networks)? My first thought is to run a ping (in cmd.exe) to see if packet loss is an issue. Have you tried opening it on another computer or bro...

Re: storing PLA
I bought some "airtight" plastic bins from Target that have blue foam around the lid. Using a PVC pipe to hold the spools, I can fit four in one bin. The filament leaves the tub through PTFE tubes attached to the lid. I dumped silica gel beads about an inch thick on the bottom and they have yet to t...

Re: Whre to buy Simplify 3d license?
I had a license before I bought my M2 and that had the Makergear profile included, so I am unsure what buying a license through MG will provide. They might get a referral bonus of sorts. I think they may offer licenses so you can buy everything (printer and software) under one charge.
