Re: Benchy quality issues.
Oh boy, I can't believe it took me this long before I had a chance to come back and followup on this thread. OK, so I followed the advice and printed a new boat this time by orienting the print so that the front of the boat was pointing towards the printer fan. I am happy to report that the front of...

Benchy quality issues.
Hello, A couple of days ago I decided to print a Benchy just for fun and noticed that the quality of the print was not very good. Specifically, the hull of the boat had some issue, I was expecting the hull to be nice and smooth but that is not the case. Please check out the pictures below: FullBoat....

About Simplify 3D version 4.0 and M2 Rev. E
Hello, I currently use Simplify 3D version 3 and have been thinking of upgrading to Simplify 3D version 4. Before I go ahead with the upgrade, I was wondering if someone else has already upgraded to the new version and if they wouldn't mind sharing their experience with the new version. If at all po...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
One last thing. I would like to thank the MakerGear team for the outstanding support provided to me while helping me troubleshoot this issue. Rather than having me tinker with the printer until we found out what was going on, they decided to go all out and simply replace the printer so that I can be...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
Agggg.... my apologies for taking so long to respond, some unexpected stuff came up and I am just getting back on track. @ksevcik: I ended up printing a couple of parts based on your attached stl file and followed your instruction (to the best of my ability) but I found it very difficult to determin...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
So I ended up experiment by lowering the z-height as recommended, this indeed filled up the gaps but it did't fill the gaps in a nice way. Basically, now that the nozzle is closer to the bed during the first layer print, the plastic ends up spreading more to the sides which has the nice effect of co...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
Is that the bottom of your first layer? If so your z-height needs to be lowered. (less gap) plus 1 plus 2 Thank you, sounds good, however, just a couple of quick questions if you guys don't mind: 1) How will lowering the z-height address the funky layer pattern? If you notice in the picture from my...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
If you're doing standard 45,-45 infill and your concern is the part you have circled there, that's almost certainly backlash. I decided to experiment a little more by printing two small squares, in one of the square I set the "External Fill Patter" to "Rectilinear" and the other square to "Concentr...

Re: Gaps in solid layers, why?
Sorry, I should have included that information with the original post. I am using S3D with the default MakerGear profile that comes built in with the software, in my case the built in profile is called "MakerGear M2 (24V V4 hotend)". When I printed the piece shown in the attachment, I used the profi...

Gaps in solid layers, why?
Hello,
Looking at the attached picture, is it possible for someone to tell me what may be going on with the printer to cause the gaps between the plastic strings?
Thanks.
