Re: The State of the Gear

I bought my M2 kit as a preorder in October 2012, shortly after the original release when they were transitioning from the mosaic to the M2. I waited about 2 months for the printer. I would imagine that they learned a lot from the experience and are working on a phased roll out of the new M3. Releas...

Re: The State of the Gear

Good call on doing independent dual extrusion with the M3.

I already have idex on my M2 with Tim's magnetic upgrade :D

On the M3 it looks to me like you increased the linear rail (like I did) so that the left extruder can print the entire bed still? You should list that as a selling point.

Re: Safe Fillet Radius Range for M2 Bed

Anything but a super tiny radius will pose a problem since the angle near the bed is so shallow. You can generally print them but it will look sloppy at the bottom. If the radius is smaller than your extrusion line width then the slicer will mostly ignore it so what is the point. I have taken to usi...

I thought I would point out that unless you get a special license from the creator then printing and selling that scale thingiverse part would be illegal due to the license that the creator has shared it under. Namely that you can not use it commercially. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-s...

Re: best add on control panel

It took me a while to figure out this one so I thought I would mention it here as well.

For the wifi setup file octopi-network.txt where it says "put SSID here" make sure to not put the SSID into the quote put remove them and just have the SSID. Same goes for the password.

Re: best add on control panel

how to put octoprint on my computer (mac) is there a simple program? Octoprint is a web server that is run on the raspberry pi itself. You log into the server through a web browser and do all of your control through that "web" page. You can access it by entering the IP of your raspberry pi or http:...

Re: best add on control panel

Now I can't seem to get to set up the Octoprint interface. (strange it said the quote was from someone else so I had to manually edit it.) I use a mac but did this a couple weeks ago so it is getting a bit fuzzy by now. I will help if I can. I am not sure where you are stuck. I started here http://...

Re: Tops

That is cool. That reminds me of a top I saw on youtube but it was made with wood. They are called tippe tops. I just did a quick search on thingiverse and found this one. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:370749
It looks like fun.

Re: Printing with MOLDLAY

from a piece of metal conduit You may not want to use conduit for anything dealing with high temperatures, especially welding but I think your use would qualify. Most conduit has a zinc coating and when it is heated it will off gas creating a noxious gas you don't want to breathe. Looking at the pi...

Re: PEI Bed Surface

I purchased a 12x24 sheet of the 0.03" http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0013HJBA4 It was shipped flat in a giant box and was not warped at all. Maybe try a different size?
