Re: First Layer Width - M3 SE help needed
Ok, thanks sthone. Good to know and it seems I might not being doing anything terribly wrong after all. A relief. I'd still like to reduce that first layer width with ABS, hopefully without compromising adhesion. Oh, mostly I am printing customers own designs, so no real chance to modify the bottom ...

First Layer Width - M3 SE help needed
Hi All, I have yet to work this one out and after months of trying thought I'd ask here. When printing, my very first layer is always wider then the walls/outline above it. I have calibrated Z-Height time and time again, both manually and with the MakerGear "test patch" process through Octoprint. I'...

Re: M3 and Simplify 3d (sort of an unboxing)
Hello Decav, My apologies if I am misunderstanding with regards to the leveling but - in Octoprint under maintenance there is a "cold" manual bed leveling option, as well as a cold Z height option. I have had my M3 for a few months now and soon grew tired of the "normal" bed leveling feature where t...

Re: M3 - Z height changes at start of print
3dPrintingMD - thanks for the heads up on those profiles. The speeds are quite a bit slower to the M2 profile that installs with S3D. I will try the new M3 one as soon as possible though. Steve - MG Support have given my a few new things to try, so will run through those as soon as I can. As for the...

Re: M3 - Z height changes at start of print
Sorry - forgot to add. The M3 bed comes down under power, not just dropping.

Re: M3 - Z height changes at start of print
Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply. I think your right regarding support - whom I have been in contact with. Saying that they were not able to help me with this issue as they could not replicate the problem at their end with my gcode files. So the same issue occurred this morning. Before that the printe...

M3 - Z height changes at start of print
Hi All, I have had my M3 for a month or so now. I am very happy with it but I occasionally (more so lately) I have been experiencing this issue; - I start a print and the nozzle gauges through the Kapton Tape. The previous print/s, sliced in Simplify3D with exact same profile had no issue. This seem...

PEI Surface - which thickness?
Hi All, I am looking at replacing the kapton my M3 shipped with with a sheet of PEI. Looking at the various sizes etc. I see there are also a few thicknesses available. I was hoping to get some advice on which thickness of PEI to apply to my M3 glass bed? Or does it not really matter? I see prusa re...

Re: M3 - maintenance (greases & oils)
Thanks to all for the replies. I noticed a fair bit of dust etc on the rails and build platform after removing from the shipping box, so cleaned those thoroughly shortly after unpacking when my M3 was delivered. I wanted to get the right oil back on the rails as soon as possible. I am glad I asked, ...
