Re: Replacement bed leveling compression springs

What you are looking for is a "stacked wave disk spring": https://www.mcmaster.com/wave-springs There are quite a few variables in specifying one. Even if you want to source it locally, I'd check with MakerGear tech support to get the right specs. It's small enough that they may just toss one in an ...

Re: Reprinting Filament Drive. What material should I use?

I used the default orientation. There are actually some clever design features in the model to minimize supports if you print it the way they intended. I used S3D, and I think I may have played a little with the supports, but I don't recall that it was a big deal. I printed a slighjtly modified vers...

Re: Restoring Simplify3D Settings

S3D is definitely still under development, and they are threatening a major new release later this year. I say "threatening" both because they plan to charge existing users for it, and because they tend to introduce new bugs with each version, including breaking things that worked before. They also ...

Re: Question about CAD software

I've been using Fusion360. I used to have a paid copy of Alibre/Geomagic, and it was very buggy. Fusion has had a few quirks, but they are very responsive to bug reports and the latest version is very stable. I can get Fusion for free because I work part-time at a university. The regular licensing f...

Re: How To: Z-Stop & Bed Leveling

Although the glass is pretty good as far as being flat, it's not necessarily uniform thickness. I measured a couple glass beds, and found that my original one was slightly wedge shaped; it was thicker on one side that the other. If I have to remove the bed for any reason, I make sure I install it in...

Re: Spray on PVA glue

Sounds like not enough glue or too much water. I got a small fine mist spray spray bottle at Bed Bath & Beyond for about a dollar that works nicely. I use the "goes on purple dries clear" Emer's glue sticks. You don't want to hose it down, just add enough water to spread it in a film.

Re: Spray on PVA glue

I lay down a grid of glue stick, and then spray it with a bit of water. I then smear it into an even film with my finger. Works great on PETG & PLA using the bare glass side of the factory build plate. I can refresh it several times by just hitting it with a quick spray & re-smearing it in any areas...

Tips for Replacing Filament Drive Gearbox Pinion?

My pinion gear is getting a bit worn, and I have a replacement. I've seen various comments that they may be installed with an adhesive. At a minimum it's probably going to require a tiny gear puller, maybe along with some heat. Any recommendations on a puller the right size? If I need to apply heat,...

Re: Cura 2.3.0 MakerGear M2 file

At some point, they reversed where the Z axis "home" position is located. On the Rev. E, the Z limit switch is with the platform all the way down. I'm not sure when they changed, but the older versions of the M2 had the Z limit switch at the top. It sounds like that's where your problem originates.

Re: M2- Revision G not extruding

The frame doesn't look that different from my M2E, but the way they mount the bed cooling fan to the extruder is definitely a departure. However, I'm not sure I'd consider it an improvement...
