Ethernet Connection Failure

I bought an M3-ID two years ago. After working with MG Tech Support for several weeks I gave up trying to establish a reliable WiFi connection and then found that a Netgear Ethernet over power solution worked reliably. However, today I couldn't connect my M3. MG's "Find-My-Printer" application could...

OctoPrint Starting Height Adjustment Problem

Hi. While my M3-SE’s clogged nozzle soaks in acetone (is there a better solvent for PETG?) I installed a new, backup hot end and nozzle to get going again. After extruding/wiping some PLA (good flow) OctoPrint’s Starting Height Setup process raises the print bed until it’s pressing up against the gl...

Re: M3 Ethernet Connection Options

Tim, You’re the first person I’ve communicated with regarding prospects for a direct laptop/printer Ethernet cable connection who’s been able to actually describe how & why this might be achieved. Thank you for the education. I’m in the process of evaluating a replacement Pi I received from MakerGea...

Re: M3 Ethernet Connection Options

Thanks very much for your advice, Tim. My home modem is in my office vs. the garage where my M3 lives, so in my case running a Cat5 line between these devices would be difficult. Assuming I should be able to connect my laptop to my M3 via a direct Cat5 cable connection, how would I set that up? Than...

M3 Ethernet Connection Options

Hi. I’ve been working with the folks at MakerGear Tech Support off and on to resolve an intermittent Wi-Fi/OctoPrint connection problem for an M3 SE I bought in July. If I ultimately can’t get the Wi-Fi connection working reliably, I’m hoping to get some novice-level instructions on how to use an Et...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

Update. I found/read/performed the extrusion multiplier calibration procedure... which yielded a factor of 0.83 for my M3 when using eSUN's black PETG. Entering this value in S3D resulted in even weaker inter-shell layer bonds. Even straps printed directly on the build plate - which hadn't failed on...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

I'm still pretty green at this, but the one piece of advice I've seen over & over again is to run a calibration on your extrusion multiplier settings BEFORE you try to adjust anything else. Increasing the width will do nothing if the multiplier is off. Gwhite, Thanks for the education. Regarding ca...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

why not print the strap upside down so you don’t need support? hard to tell if you can do that from your photo, but it looks like the simplest solution. Also, your title is about PETG, your post is about PLA, and your temps are closer to PETG and way too high for PLA. Thanks for attempting to help ...

Re: PETG: Bond Strength vs. Support Tradeoff?

Does the bottom of the strap have a rounded edge? I expect the delamination occurs where the support doesn't reach as close to the strap as it does on the strap's bottom surface, so the outer perimeters are not as well supported. If they sag just a little bit, there will be a gap between the filame...

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and advice, Tim. My interior infill percentage is 50%.
