Re: v4 Status

OMG  How easy is that.. I never thought about that. (I think you just paid for that hot end with this tip ;)) Would I use a feeler gauge between the bed and the nozzle when dropping it back down to the bed though? -Steve Yes, that's what I did as well, and it worked great. Everything up to t...

Re: v4 Status

The dual upgrade was straightforward. If you built the M2 as a kit, you won't have any real problems. I imagine going to a V4 single would be easier. Even if you bought yours assembled, as long as you have some mechanical inclination, you'll be fine. There are plenty of posts here going into some de...

Re: How to get a smooth finish on a PLA printed part

Another reason to use nitrile or neoprene gloves...since this solvent is so readily absorbed through the skin, anything dissolved in the solvent is likely to get carried into the skin with it. I just found out about this stuff and I don't know what's available online, but if there is a choice betwee...

Re: Cracked the borosilicate trying to remove pla print...

I have done it both ways but i can confirm what you are saying. It does seem to stick slightly better when it goes on cold. If i apply it hot there is no chance whatsoever that it will stick. Also it seems like a single layer of glue works better than multiple coats. I use the disappearing purple s...

Re: Octoprint not working!

You may be able to set up a dynamic DNS updater like duckdns instead of going through the trouble of getting an external static IP. It automatically assigns your current IP address to a DNS name so you can always reach it. Check your router settings for such an option. For a possibly easier to use ...

@jimc why can't you just tell us it took a couple of hours :-) It looks amazing as usual, well done and thanks for sharing, it's always great to see what you do. It leaves the rest of us hoping that one day we can learn it as well. Happy Holidays Michael That's one of the reasons I love seeing Jim'...

Re: V4 Hot End and Flexible Filament

I'm doing the initial feed slowly now, and that has worked well. Before, I was hitting the +10 jog repeatedly (using S3D) and I think that was a bad idea. As far as the Ninja filament goes, I was probably trying to extrude too quickly and I bet that's what caused it to buckle and get wrapped around ...

Been flying for 16 years! mostly helis but I have flown planes, gliders, jets and now I have been getting more into quads and FPV flying. Getting ready to print a tricopter frame right now. I re-leveled the bed and now it looks perfect, hope I don't jinx myself cause the print just started! I still...
