M3 Printer Speed
I have an M3ID. The FFF profiles for Simplify3D that MakerGear provided have a default printer speed of 3500 mm/min or 58 mm/sec. The SPEC printer speed is listed as 80 - 450 mm/sec. So the question is why are the S3D profiles set so low and what is a good number for printer speed on the M3ID?

Re: M3 ID PVA + PLA builds
I have the M3ID and I love it. I have used PVA with stringy, but good results. I recently discovered BVOH. This is water soluble like PVA. It actually dissolves faster and cleaner than PVA and it prints like PLA, little or no stringing and oozing. Verbatim is the only one that makes it as far as I k...

Re: My M3ID appears to be dead :-(
Apparently it doesn't usually affect the printer. I had been using it like that for several months. There was one previous occasion when the printer just stopped and locked up in the middle of a print. I guess it runs normally on wifi through the PI, but occasionally the USB sends something that mak...

NierAutomata on the M3ID
This was my first big project on my M3ID printer. It is a statue of NierAutomata from the video game. It stands about 9" tall and was printed in 6 pieces. Print details: 0.2 mm layer height, white PLA for figure and white PLA + PVA for dense support. The PVA dense support allowed me to keep fine det...

Re: My M3ID appears to be dead :-(
I checked the fuses. They are all good. I talked with Michael at MakerGear support. We finally figured out that the USB cable I had connecting my printer to my laptop was interfering with the wifi commands. I unplugged the cable and everything worked :-) When I first got the M3ID I plugged in the US...

Printing with Verbatim BVOH vs PVA
I recently got some of the new Verbatim BVOH filament. This is like PVA, dissolves in water. So it is designed for support structure. Let me say off the top, I LOVE this stuff :-) First the good news. BVOH prints like PLA, not PVA. There is no stringyness or oozing. It is rigid like PLA. With PVA I ...

My M3ID appears to be dead :-(
I had my M3ID lock up again in the middle of a print. I shut the system down and when I came back a couple of days later I could not connect to the printer. When I turn it on the power supply comes up and the PI lights up, but the printer does not power up. The only light in the electronics box is a...

Re: How Do I Get Rid of fine spider threads between parts?
I am already working on prevention, but some prints, like the Klein Bottle vase still get some fuzz. I was wondering if something like fuming would dissolve the fuzz without damaging the print detail.

How Do I Get Rid of fine spider threads between parts?
I love my new M3ID, but I get very fine strings as the printer jumps from one area of the print to the next. They are very fine like spider threads. Fairly easy to remove unless they are in a hard to reach spot. Is there a good way to remove them? Like a solution that will dissolve the fine threads ...

Re: M3 Dual + Simplify 3D = Second head can't print?
It sounds like the M3 is trying to park or zero the T1 head with the T0 commands. You should call or e-mail MakerGear support. They are very helpful. My M3 works fine for both 2 color and one color with T1 for support. You might also look at the Start script and the Tool Change script in Simplify3D....
