Re: Replica Statue
Nice work! I saw the pic before I finished reading the first post and I guessed the one on the left to be the original due to the retro pale jade green color. Of course, I finished reading your post and zoomed in on the pic. Interesting to read about the colorblindness and see the result and realiz...

Re: Replica Statue
Haha, yeah they all seem kind of the same to me, though the different patterns help.

Replica Statue
Using photogrammetry and 3D printing I was able to make a replica of a statue that my wife is find of. About 15 years ago the statue was damaged when it fell off a book shelf, she has been looking for one like it since then. I used Meshroom to generate the 3D mesh, Blender for mesh clean up, and Sim...

Re: Mehve 2 3D printed model
Thank you very much for the kind words! This was modeled in CATIA and sliced in Simplify 3D.I used this ( http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/File:Mehve_Concept.png ) drawing as a reference though only for the proportions and basic outline. All the parts were printed with 0.25mm nozzle at 0.15mm layer heig...

Mehve 2 3D printed model
Hi, This is a modified version of the Mehve from the movie 'Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind'. It is 1/18th scale fits a Lego Belleville figure, has retracting landing skids, and movable flaps. It was inspired by my daughter, who after seeing the movie really wanted a toy version of the Mehve. I C...

Re: Z axis movment mid layer
On the contrary---it is more likely the stepper motor than the stepper driver. The key is that this thing is a first generation M2 with a 24V upgrade. The Z steppers on early models have a high resistance, run very hot, and upgrading to 24V seems to deliver a quick death. That's exactly what happen...

Re: Z axis movment mid layer
Thank you very much for the response. If it is the driver then I suspect the driver itself is nearing the end of its life. I have run my M2 for 2 years with very heavy usage and have never encountered this behavior until now. I'll slap a heat sink on the z driver and hope that it improves. Thank you...

Z axis movment mid layer
Hello, I am posting this because I want to verify that the behavior i am seeing is due to the z axis stepper motor and not the RAMBo. This just started last night during a 10 hour print. The z stepper would drop a bit (a fraction of a layer height) in the middle of layer as if there was a command to...

Thanks!
I am using CATIA V5 for my design work, and Simplify 3D for slicing.
