Re: Even "MOST RELIABLE" printer can fail, & AT THE WORST TI

UPDATE:
- I fixed it!... by doing nothing:)
- Just reconnected everything back at the lab, and violá, works "as advertised".
(Not too reassuring, though. Gonna purchase some spare thermistors, "just in case".)

For now there's nothing (identified) to fix. So, gonna just keep printing!:)...

Re: Even "MOST RELIABLE" printer can fail, & AT THE WORST TI

Thx for the great reply, Ed. Yes, I suspected the thermistor. And yes, I have been deep into the firmware (got system to work in Marline 1.1.8/Arduino 1.8.5 - w/o issues, BTW), so have encountered the failsafe features related to thermistors. FYI, the error occurred on bed heating. Then resliced w/o...

Even "MOST RELIABLE" printer can fail, & AT THE WORST TIME:(

Well, it happened:(... ...In front of ~30 excited kids, parents, and others at a big event... "HEATER FAILED. HIT RESET" . "Hm? Sorry folks, an error." ... Toothpick to RESET button... again, "HEATER FAILED. HIT RESET" . Resliced w/o heated bed... PRINTING!... then I hear, "It's moving." ... Yup, ca...

Re: How to fix false indicator lights on Viki 1?...

ultralcd.cpp has been hacked!:) TEN CUSTOM_USER_MENUS. Not sure if there's a limit, but I can make the list arbitrarily long.

Re: How to fix false indicator lights on Viki 1?...

UPDATE: So, found a partial workaround to indicator lights prob. In fact, addressed two issues w/ one "fix". With the MG-supported firmware, the electronics and coldend fans turn on at startup. (FYI, they're in series, so come on as a pair.) Using the newer firmware though, the fans do not come on....

Re: How to fix false indicator lights on Viki 1?...

UPDATE: - On startup, all lights are on (except 'SD'), but simply adjusting Control>Temperature>Nozzle, or >Bed, or >Fan speed # turns off ALL lights (as they should be). - Incidentally, the fans (electronics, coldend) do not come on at startup as they do using the original combo (1.5.5 Beta/Marlin ...

Travel speed: 300mm/s. Too fast?

From Simplify3D profile provided by Makergear. Have delta printer that's set to half that speed. So, is it OK? Or what? Can too fast cause layer shift (due to missed step, perhaps)? TIA.
