Re: M3 ID REV 0 Enclosure made with printed hardware

No, they did not say put it in an open ended box.. they said cover it with a box.. I printed a box that split even with an enclosure. For the noise I printed dampers our of ninjaflex and placed them between the X an Y stepper and ninjaflex washers for under the screws. I have attached the files if y...

Re: M3 ID REV 0 Enclosure made with printed hardware

Very cool looking enclose! My enclosure for my M2 is not heated. Since the bed temp for ABS is 110C, I just fire the heater up while I am prepping the model and have not had too much trouble with ABS. A 8x8x8x4 open ended box I made last year did split in a couple of places but for smaller items I h...

Re: Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

Not sure what you are cleaning.. To clean the outside of the nozzle, heat to the temperature of the material and buff it with a brass brush, like you do when shining shoes. I use one of these between each print.. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tire-Repair-Brass-Bristle-Brush-6014/161533083119?epid=1137104...

Re: Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

Mine is kind of crusty (like me but not as old :-) ) I don't normal cover the nozzle with the sleeve, just the hot end. Can you actually see the rubber has melted and is now missing from the fiberglass? One other thing that causes black bugger in white filament is if the nozzle picks up a bugger off...

Re: Load new filament when printing?

I have only done this, I think twice with my M2. I prepped the end of the running out filament by cutting the end square. I got the new filament ready and as the running out filament got an inch or 2 from the extuder housing, I slid the new piece into the tube and removed the tube from the extrtuder...

Re: Spray on PVA glue

I tried the water spray as you suggest but just ended up removing all the glue and starting over..
Guess will try mixing some glue and water just for fun to see if it will work.

Spray on PVA glue

Just applying glue stick to a garolite bed I purchased from mkmachining to use with nylons. He said to apply 2 thin coats of glue stick. I have been using glue stick on glass for a while and I find I can apply the first coat very smoothly but the after it drys, the second coat is never as smooth. I ...

Re: Gcode script to check bed level

Never mind.. I figured it out.. For the next newbie who want to level his bed or fix a bowed gantry I have attached the DI mount SLT and the gcode to move it around the bed. The plunger spring in the DI must be removed to allow gravity only pressure on the plunger or it will actually mover the bed u...
