Re: Small problem with the plastic piece of my extruder

Sounds like you need to print yourself a new extruder housing.. they do wear out.. I prefer to use ABS but others like PETG. I think MG sells them as well if you don't feel like printing your own. ABS .35 EM 93 extruder housing tight throat.factory.gz ABS .50 EM 93 extruder housing tight throat.fact...

Re: Need some guidance

I think you may haver your extrusion multiplier a bit to high and maybe starting Z is not correct, did the square come out at 3mm tall and 1.1 thick? The ugly gob poop is indicative or PETG and can be made worse if over extruding or too close on the start Z offset.. even with all things perfect it s...

Re: Need some guidance

it should be 3mm tall +- .02 and 1.1 - 1.13 mm thick.
PETG does not like thin layers if you are trying to print at .1 mm or something that is not going to work well
I use Overture transparent all thee time, great stuff.. but if Z offset is too close will not work out well at all .

Re: Need some guidance

I am not sure what I am looking at, what type of filament is that, what nozzle size are you using and what layer height.. Once I know that I will give you a factory file to print and we will see what come out. Looks to me like the starting height is too close

Re: Retrofitting a Duet 2 wifi into Makergear M2 Rev. E

I will attach the stl file for the extruder housing-BLTouch. I used a .25 Nozzle and Natural ABS to print it. I have used .35 and .5 to print extruder housings in the past but with the .25 there was very little clean up to do in the filament path when done. I do have a 1.75 and 2mm Drill bit for tha...

Re: Extruder motor stops responding/moving

I went with the build-tac and attached the magnetic part to a glass plate as it was much flatter than the aluminum heater plate. I am sure this does not transfer heat as well but don't have adhesion issues . The build tack surface did not last well and got lumpy where it had been pulled from the fle...

Re: Extruder motor stops responding/moving

Yeah I have some other parts just incase, I guess a couple wiring harnesses wouldn't hurt. With the new main board and BLTouch I don't see myself buying another printer. I was printing .1mm thick nylon shims the other day.. I assume you bought the X/Extruder harness?

Re: Extruder motor stops responding/moving

Turned out not to be hot section, but extruder thermistor cable- the one that runs from the housing on the side of the extruder stepper to T0. The copper strands must have suffered work-hardening from all the flexing. They must have eventually parted but were touching enough to handle the termistor...
