Re: What 3d Modeling Software are we using?

I'd give another thumbs up to Fusion 360. It has a lot of power for free software. My preference is still Solidworks for most projects, but Fusion 360 has some capabilities that Solidworks lacks (or that I don't know about/understand) when it comes to working with mesh files. It happens pretty often...

Re: Print Settings for PETG: eSUN Solid Black Filament

I just ordered a new roll of eSUN Black PETG for the first time in 5 months and it's different than it was before. The filament on the roll is completely shiny and smooth....it used to have a texture and the surface was flat in color. If I flex the material by hand it seems to have the properties of...

Re: nema17 dampers

I finally put my dampers on....it's soo awesome! So quiet. Dare I say the print quality looks its best ever.
I have only run one print though. I'd be interested to see how a tall skinny part comes out.

Re: nema17 dampers

And for buyers in the US, you can buy them individually here:

or

http://robotdigg.com/product/341

I work right next to my printer most of the time, so for the noise reduction alone they seem worth buying.

Re: loving my printer but need help with two things...

The second fan is something that you can control in your g-code. Whether you have it on throughout the print depends on what type of filament you are using. For PLA you need the fan to cool the plastic.

Is the z-stop light turning on during the print?

Re: Woke up to this mess

Thanks for the suggestion Dale! This is the first time I have run into this. I would take the handles off for a short term fix, but I remove my aluminum plate pretty often to re-apply hair spray. It's nice being able to take it off and put it back quickly.

Woke up to this mess

I had this print running last night (about an 10 hour print). When I woke up this morning, this is what I found ↓. The filament was still feeding but the z-axis was bottomed out. The pieces I was printing are less than 1/2" tall. I didn't notice whether the z-axis was trying to move or not. After I ...
