Re: Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

To clean the inside I use eSun cleaning filament between material changes. I also don't remove the nozzles, I change hot end.. one with each of the 3 nozzle sizes.. some what a pain but once you get used to it now all that bad. yes, the inside. Great suggestion about just changing hot ends - I woul...

Re: Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

One other thing that causes black bugger in white filament is if the nozzle picks up a bugger off the print or from the initial purge over the edge, it will cook on the nozzle until it drop off on the Last Layer .. it never fails! yes! I think this is happening as well. a large amber colored chunk ...

Re: Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

Hi - yes, upon further examination it was contamination actually seeping out from the top of the nozzle and down - no apparent melting from the rubber. This has been an intermittent problem for me and I think it's from not properly cleaning the inside of the nozzle out when I torch it. And I'm seein...

Rubber coated fiberglass insulation placement/maintenance question

Hi all, just a quick question regarding the rubber-coated hotend insulation: I'm having issues with melting rubber escaping over the nozzle and contaminating the print over time. Is it just that the insulation blanket needs to be changed regularly? Does placement matter, ie, should the edge of the b...

Re: .25 Stainless nozzle?

thanks for the info. my background is rendering (mostly) indoor and some outdoor architectural scenes with max and v-ray and I actually tried to market doing models for local developers or/or real estate people, but didn't get anywhere yet. but your models look excellent and very precise. I see the ...

Re: .25 Stainless nozzle?

Yes, $400-500 isn't bad at all.

I'm curious - how long does it take to print one of those cars with your DLP? I also do human head models, around 75mm x 100mm, and I could obviously get much better detail with a DLP.

Re: .25 Stainless nozzle?

It's fine, although I understood your concepts from the beginning and as Airscapes mentioned, if I maintain the nozzles well and make sure things are cleaned out before changing filaments, I usually don't have clogging problems. I need the fine lines for my work, and I can't get the detail with .35....

Re: .25 Stainless nozzle?

listen pal, I was simply showing an example of how a .25 SS nozzle is a viable and useful piece of equipment for printing with metal filament, and I've done many of these without clogs. If you feel the need to be arrogant and insulting then feel free to traipse off to another thread and give your va...

Re: .25 Stainless nozzle?

I see - it seems to me it isn't that much a specialty, considering the proliferation of metal filaments on the market lately. oh well. I wonder how long a brass nozzle would last me printing with SS..guess I'll find out. Thanks! Based on absolutely no inside information, I'd say a specialty nozzle m...
