Re: Using ABS

Reset M2 settings by deleting all old S3D configs, have first layer temp now at 250. This might work, but after messing with the printer and software all day, next try will be tomorrow. Loose set screw on filament drive gear really set me back. Looks like progress. Smallest allen hex wrench in the t...

Re: Using ABS

Part of the problem was the set screw holding the gear to feed the filament. That's fixed, now I cannot get my machine to print at 250 as the machine control panel with the emergency stop button. Goes to to 250, then drops to 230 and starts printing. 230 is too low for abs. In the FFF settings under...

Re: Using ABS

Looked at the gear that feeds, it slips, but works fine with the black PLA purchased from Makergear. It's the red material that don't work, hot end is clear. Tried up to 260. I can purge and extrude the red ABS, if I hit purge again, no-go. The gear turns but the ABS red slips. This is with the hot ...

Using ABS

After doing OK with M2 in PLA, moved to ABS. Put down the tricky Kapton tape. Hit extrude 100 twice in the S3d program with temp set on the machine control panel to 250, (started at 235 as recommend) and the ABS red purchased from Makergear came out as curly Qs. Moved temp higher, but the M2 clogs u...

Re: M2 Z-stop bed leveling contradictions?

200-250-200 in the general options under the preferences tab. All zeros in origin offset. Machine prints in 2 quadrants so far, plus centered. Model sits in the center of the build cube in S3D when arrange is clicked. When the bolt touches the z-stop bend spring is that where you check with a busine...

Re: M2 Z-stop bed leveling contradictions?

3D_Parts.jpg Made my first parts today, including the bigfoot head on the SD card that came with my M2. Tried to print an extended spool off Thingiverse for the M2. Never got this right. Extended spool file printed off to the side, not centered like my successful builds? This build failed 5 times: ...

M2 Z-stop bed leveling contradictions?

Z end stop is the thickness of a folded sheet of paper, or business card. Bed leveling is a single sheet of paper? Confusing to me, please explain. I have my computer with 3D Simplify software controlling/talking to the printer. Need a little help before proceeding to my first print. Some instructio...

Re: Makergear interface

Using photo with the color coded wires is self explanatory. Very similar to plugging in a home built computer's front panel. Not sure about upgrading part yet. My M2 is about month old and will check tech support on what's necessary. Running the printer as a stand alone (minus computer) would solve ...

Makergear interface

Wire ends on the interface look like what's used to plug in USB connectors when building a computer. Where's the diagram/instructions for the interface? There was none in the box Makergear sent to me. Just unpacked the machine, far more quality then the Plastic S. I sent back. Look forward to using ...
