Re: v4 Status

V3B is a proven hot end that's printed a good 40-50 pounds of filament for me. This hot end can be rebuilt back to brand new for about 20 bucks with a new barrel and tip. I'm pushing 500 successful builds with this hot end and any problems caused were ALL filament driven. V3B printing PLA? super-sup...

Re: Another case of lifting corners

Watch the rsilvers high quality ABS settings for the rim, or outline is set at zero, make this value 2mm and you're good to go.
If this setting is not corrected your first layer gets printed on the outline.

Re: Another case of lifting corners

Thought long and hard about this. Seen many reoccurring themes/topics here about liking or not liking certain bonding agents. Liking has zero to do with 3D printing. I use what works. 60C bed temp in PLA with rsilvers profiles are a problem solver. You will notice in the rsilver's profiles, infill p...

Re: Another case of lifting corners

What infill percentage are you using? Best PLA filament I've used is from MakerGear. Not overly impressed with Sainsmart stuff. Their colors are bright on the roll then, when printed ...the filament color darkens quite a bit. Not sure if there's much help I can offer other than start using a bed pre...

Re: Maker Gear logo?

Pretty sure the font used on their website is Arial, then made into bold, but not 100%.

That's what came up when I looked at their xhtml source code.

Re: Do the dual hotends work better than the v3b?

Thanks Tim for explaining something I don't have a clue about.
Should have some down time in January when I'm done printing ring project.
Then, I'll swap over to the newer setup.

Do the dual hotends work better than the v3b?

Still have my dual hot end kit in the box from MG.
What are the advantages in the different type hot ends?

Obvious to color, in my case a easier to remove supports is why I purchased
the dual extruder kit in the 1st. place.

Been hesitant about the end drips, needing wipers and code modifications.

Re: Easy PLA removal from bed using FrogTape

Hair spray doesn't need to be cleaned after every build. I get about 15 runs before cleaning. If your frog tape is working stick with it. There's no right or wrong way is what I learned thus far and appreciate your willingness to share. Heated build beds are necessary when you move to ABS, PET+, etc...

Re: Saving Gcode to SD

Thanks for great explanations. Was aware of the naming convention in the number of letters.
But it's a good thing to bring up again for those like me in the learning stages.
